Back to basics, old school camping at its best. Campfires allowed, loads of freedom and space for the children - and a brilliant family friendly pub only 2 minutes walk away across the fields.

Lovely to be able to have open fires - lots of space - good showers. Pity the weather was not so good, but we had a fabulous time anyway.

Fantastic, tranquil and my kids enjoyed playing on the hay bails in middle of fields. showers were fantastic. Great place to stay

Loved it, although I we did break our suspension and had to get a taxi home and the car was recovered back 5 days later

Spectacularly tranquil basics site

Great place

This is split into two parts really. First, the camp site is a great location, huge space right at the foot of the White Horse and feels really like old-fashioned camping. There are a number of toilets in every field which aren't too bad. Toilet paper provided and although a big hole in the ground, the hole is so deep that it doesn't get too bad at all and they are regularly cleaned. The showers and sink units have hot running water. In fact the showers are great-lots of room to hang clothes and very powerful showers.
The only drawback is what others have mentioned here. There are a few campers who really aren't considerate at all and play music late into the night and talk or sing loudly. we had this way past midnight and up to 2am so not ideal for families. Noone is keeping that in check unlike on the main site across the road.
But overall, if you can bring earplugs and luck is on your side in terms of noisy neighbours, then it is decent value and relaxed. Worth a visit overall.

Northdown Farm campsite is in a beautiful, tranquil setting based in an area known locally as paradise valley. It’s a perfect campsite for people wanting to get away from hustle and bustle of town life and get back to basics. Dogs are allowed and campfires too so can have the real camping experience with toasting marshmallows!

Nothing about this site is tranquil. No enforced rules regarding noise or speed limits. No one to check if you've paid or register a complaint with.

A free for all... kinda like a festival campsite.

If you want to have an all night party and you are not bothered about anyone else in any other camp site , this is definitely the site for you!
