Dropped in last night for an evening meal as we were just passing. Haven’t been before and not from the area. Absolutely loved it, amazing atmosphere with extremely polite and welcoming bar staff. We had the steak and ale pie and a steak. Both meals were delicious and definitely worth the price paid. Would totally recommend this great place. Love the warm feeling with the log burner and the locals welcoming attitude. The little spaniel was cute as well.

A fabulous village pub will just a few hotel rooms, but comfortable and welcoming. The bar offered a good selection of craft beers at prices that make you think it would be a shame not to have another.
The restaurant is first class with local produce and home made breads at prices that won't break the bank. Everyone at the Lion was helpful and nothing too much trouble.
Best of all was the morning selection of top quality English breakfast or other options such as Eggs Benedict or smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on a toasted muffin.
The Lion was a chance discovery that I will definitely be returning to if I'm passing that way in future.

The food is superb and the service excellent.
The pub itself is a historic Inn and parts of the building date back to 1200 century being a Manor house.
The pub plays host to many race enthusiasts from the Shelsley Walsh hill climb and on some race days is surrounded with historic race cars has well has modern race and sporting cars and motorcycles.
The village is an excellent example of an Anglo-Saxon settlement overlooking the River Teme, situated on the ancient salt route that led from Droitwich to Leominster.

The earliest surviving mention of the village is in the Latin charter of King Athelstan, granting it to the monks of St. Peter's Monastery in Worcester in 934 AD when it was referred to as Clistun ultra Tame.

Lovely warm country pub, great food in a pretty village. Lunch time menu photographed, two courses for £12 bargain for the quality.
