An absolutely beautiful set of 3 lakes, with great birdlife, unfortunately I didn’t get any kingfisher photographs, and I am told that an otter was seen last Sunday, but a great place to walk and get some exercise, walk the dog, and so close to Paignton. The volunteers who keep this place immaculate need our congratulations.

I love this place, gentle walks, surrounded by nature of many kinds, a few benches if you need to rest or just sit quietly, a beautiful place!

"CLENNON VALLEY LAKES 2024"..

Natural Reed Beds were harshly cut back a couple of years ago, as a result the Resident Mute Swans have not been able to raise any Cygnets..

A local person walking around the ponds, has heard that the mate of the lonely old Mute Swan was scared off of the nest by two rowdy Canada Geese, one of which constantly sits in front of the Mute Swans nest, exposed by lack of sufficient cover, the Canada Geese do not have their own nest..

Water is full of floating spring blossom from trees and considering the recent rains appears to be at a low level more resembling a warm summer flow..

Perhaps Paignton Zoo are extracting to much water from the system upstream..?

The Wild Flower Memorial is neglected, wiers have not been cleared of debris..

No Moorhen Chicks, No Coot Chicks..

Only Two Day Old Ducklings, Good Luck..

One pair of Reed Warblers, Robins, Blackbirds, Jackdaws, High Nesting Crows Still Mating..

A few Gulls were bathing..

No Swifts, No Swallows, No House Martins..

(Swallows and House Martins were flying at dusk over Goodrington)..

About Paignton
Town in England

Paignton is a seaside town on the coast of Tor Bay in Devon, England. Together with Torquay and Brixham it forms the borough of Torbay which was created in 1968. The Torbay area is a holiday destination known as the English Riviera. Paignton has origins as a Celtic settlement and was first mentioned in 1086. It grew as a small fishing village and a new harbour was built in 1847. A railway line was opened to passengers in 1859 creating links to Torquay and London. As its population increased, it merged with the villages of Goodrington and Preston. Paignton is around 25 miles north east of Plymouth and 20 miles south of Exeter. source
