A portion of the once great Cistercian abbey at Abbey Dore. Which fell at the dissolution of the monasteries.
The church has preserved some examples of bosses etc so very worth a visit.

A beautiful old monastery in the Welsh marshes that has lost the nave to time

Beautiful old Abbey in the small village of Dore, Herefordshire. Seating picnic area at the rear of the Abbey to take time to relax and contemplate.

What a majestic building. Absolutely beautiful and in a very tranquil setting. The inside of this Abbey is just divine and has some great information about the history behind it.
The Abbey felt very peaceful and respectful of my own personal grief. How lucky we are to be able to enjoy places like this for donation only.

Lovely and quiet, but more history available would be fantastic. Very friendly piggies outside 🙂

An astonishing, almost overwhelming, sense of the living Spirit. We were there on our own (it being a weekday lock down). I sang Taize "ubi caritas" in thanks. Playing around with timing, volume, and space. The resonance was extraordinary.

This is a totally underrated exceptional ( but somehow humble) spiritual place.
