The White Horse

Stayed here for one night and wished I could stay longer.

The rooms are huge with views of the rolling hills with sheep bleating.

The food is amazing so well worth the price.

Best of all for me, the staff are so nice and welcoming.

Superbly quiet, extremely comfortable and huge rooms. Large carpark and restaurant on site. Staff were very friendly and the food excellent - not often I enjoy a business trip but this was very relaxing. Will certainly stay again next time I'm in the area.

We are visiting The White Horse for the second time today and staying overnight. It's a must for a quiet secluded location, wonderful food and lovely service. Highly recommend. ❤

Exceptional accommodation, comfort and cleanliness excellent. Views to countryside superb. A great amount of thought has gone in to make sure your stay is brilliant.

Beautiful apartment with balcony, spotlessly clean. Food excellent 👌, friendly staff. Lovely breakfast, beautiful views, peaceful. Only downfall the mattress and pillows very hard, so not much sleep for 2 nights 😴

Well where to start The White Horse is amazing the rooms are stunning with stunning views spotlessly clean so comfortable and spacious the food was outstanding .We left this morning after waking to thick snow Dave the landlord went above and beyond to help get my car out and even drove us to the clear roads to keep us safe Dave your amazing.This place is worth every penny and we cannot wait to return .

We have returned here for the third time for special occasions previously and now just for a treat and time out to relax. This place is just fabulous on every level I love the peaceful surroundings and the service, food and accommodation is second to none. Hidden Gem🥰

Visited with friends for lunch and birthday celebration and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Setting was great, service first class, food was excellent.

This pub acts as reception for the view at Woolley Moor and is also where you can have dinner. Breakfast the following morning was included in our room rate and was simply brilliant.

The menuu for lunch and dinner is very good, the food and service are simply first rate. We had :-
Tomato and mozzarella tortellini and crab bruschetta both nicely presented and tasty

Mains
Hake amd parmentier potatoes and steak with chips peas and onion rings the later was fantastic, although the parmentier were burnt, having been left cooking too long. The fish was perfectly cooked.

Deserts

Mango bavarois _ stunning and the yorkkshire rhubarb panacotta brilliant

I visited for a family meal and they were very flexible to my dietary restrictions without making me feel like a burden and I had the most delicious meal that I could eat with none of the ingredients I have to avoid. The gluten and dairy free lemon rice pudding is absolutely delicious!!
Highly recommend for those on gluten free, dairy free or low fodmap! They don't shout enough about how flexible they are on the menu, but trust me it's great food!!

This restaurant is without a doubt one of the best I have been to in Derbyshire. The food you receive is fully deservant of its AA Rosette declaration, & I am almost certain this restaurant won't be to far away from being featured on the Michelin Guide.

The monkfish starter was flawless. The flavours within cannot be explained & I would highly suggest you try this for yourself!

The beef & chicken roast dinners were perfect. The meat was cooked to perfection, with the dish as a whole packed full of flavours!

Whatever the occasion may be for your visit; you will not be disappointed.

We've just had a weekend break at The White Horse. The accommodation was lovely, modern,spacious and very clean. The breakfast was fantastic and our evening meal was equally as excellent. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend this place and we'll definitely be returning, thank you for a lovely weekend.

Great food and service. The 2 ladies working were very welcoming and extremely helpful. The food was amazing and well priced for the quality. Only in the area for a few days but will 100% come back if in the area again.

We were invited to join 2 friends for an evening meal at The White Horse, where they were staying for a few nights. Their accomodation was fabulous, very clean modern and spacious with lovely views. 100% great place to stay. Food in the restaurant is excellent as is the sandard of the accommodation. Recommend a visit if in the area.

First time at this quaint little pub with 5 star accommodation & the most amazing service. From our lovely warm welcome to seeing our beautiful spotlessly clean suite with amazing views of the Derbyshire Countryside, to a Michelin star standard of food to a very comfortable overnight stay! What pandemic? We actually felt so relaxed we forgot about it for a while. Cleanliness was superb with the most friendly & professional staff. We can not recommend highly enough. We will frequent here for sure in the future. Thank you Dave, Mel & all staff for a very memorable stay. Mr & Mrs Gray.

A lovely couple run this place, the room was lovely and food was top notch. Nestled right amongst the county's rolling hills. Would definitely recommend
