What an incredible place to go for food! Me & my partner fancied a meal out and went here out of the blue.
The service was brilliant, drinks were great and the food was on another level! We’ll now be regulars coming back. We had the 10oz rump steak and Royal burger and can honestly say we’ve never had better food. Thank you!

What a lovely place to share a meal with family or friends. Everyone on our table remarked on the large portions served. We thought small plates meant starters, so we were amazed by the size of them, but quality and taste wasn't skimped on. I had Foccacia and olives, delicious. Then the main course didn't disappoint! I had Fish Pie, I was so full, I couldn't eat it all! We will definitely go there again.
Ample parking, lots of steps.
Excellent value for money.

What an amazing location! The food was excellent, created by a chef who knows thier trade well. We had the pork belly and the double burger. Really enjoyed our visit.

Fantastic find on our day out in the Peak District. Waze brought us a wild way from Birmingham but we are so glad, this pub is fantastic. Reasonably priced, cracking views and decent sized portions. My partner said it was the best chicken salad she’s ever had!Would highly recommend. Photo is of the chicken gyros.

We could not have chosen a better place for our anniversary. Great location, really beautiful and cosy old building. The steak was delicious and really well cooked. The apple crumble was a bit of a disappointment, but in general the food was good and staff super friendly.

Nice pub, great food, decent enough service. Onion rings were great, as well as the crispy bacon on the burger! A nice treat/birthday meal!

If you're passing by and looking for amazing food, would definitely recommend stopping. Ordered the mixed grill with peppercorn sauce, everything was cooked perfectly and the sauce is the best I've ever had. Staff were very friendly and ensured we had a good time.

Hands down the best Sunday roast I've had. I had the pork belly and my wife and daughter had the beef. Both equally delicious large portions and the gravy was amazing. We were staying at my friend's caravan 5 mins away but we would happily travel the 45 mins from our home. Thanks to all the more than helpful staff see you again soon

Lovely new beautiful interior in a modern feel with a nod to a classic country pub style. A fine selection of lagers, ales, cider, rum, gin and wine. Went for the Sunstone Hazy Pale and bloody lovely it was, too!

The new menu here is a wonderful array of classics, old favourites, continental cuisine and modern twists. A lot of choice, all of which could have been a contender. Went for a pizza as only an afternoon snack and what a pizza it was! Freshly prepared and topped with brie, mushrooms and chutney for a completely new pizza experience.

Other meals going out looked very appetising especially the burgers.

Inside is very nice but outside garden area is huge with lawn garden and patio area with far reaching views to the Charnwood hills of Leicestershire.

Only negative is the music needs to be down a touch especially when only a few people inside. Oh and plastic fake grass in the entrance hall? Yuk.

Gonna go back and order all 11 tapas dishes to try!

Lovely country pub that we couldn't go past without stopping. The sunset was as stunning and as welcoming as the pub. Service was great, very prompt and friendly.

The restaurant looked like everything you would want from a country pub, but we only had a drink on this occasion.

Great service and lovely food. We both had the Sunday roast, the lamb was a little rare for my liking but overall the food was delicious

Went in for an early dinner (2 adults and a toddler)
Place was very quiet. Staff were fantastic, not overbearing but very friendly and helpful.
My daughter is a very very fussy eater and they were happy to do a sort of child friendly ploughman’s (cheese, peppers and some fruit) for her and even cut it up to suit little hands. Our food was also fantastic, big portions, fresh soft bread for the sandwiches and amazing chips.
I live locally and will definitely be back soon

Glad to find this place. Food was amazing, huge portions and a pub full of character. I had bao buns which were awesome and wife had ploughman's that came with salad and chips. Definitely recommend.

Lovely meal here after a hike round Lumsdale Falls up the road. The food was delicious, and the mash potatoes were out of this world. Lovely location and great service, too. Will definitely be back.

Absolutely fantastic!!

A family friendly, warm and welcoming pub in the Derbyshire countryside which boasts some fantastic food, drink and views of the local area.

The staff are really nice, helpful and always offer a smile. The service they give is excellent!

The food is absolutely top quality. Fresh, local produce cooked extremely well. It's absolutely delicious. I had the bbq platter as a main and my wife had the fish & chips. The bbq platter is a meat lovers dream. Bbq pulled beef, bbq pulled pork, bbq chicken wings, bbq ribs and a side of coleslaw, salad and corn on the cob! It's massive and definitely one for a bigger appetite. The ribs were by far the best I've ever had in the area, and the homemade bbq sauce on them was amazing!

The wife's fish & chips was also exceptional! You could taste how fresh the fish was as soon as you started to eat it!

We had the platter and a main plus two drinks each and it worked out at just under £40! Tremendous value for money for fresh, local home cooked food!

I'll definitely be revisiting this place!!

5 stars doesn't do it justice, well done The Plough Inn!!!!
