Had an amazing meal at The Oak last night. We booked as a nice treat meal for the last night of our holiday, and the Oak did not disappoint.

My partner uses a wheelchair and the owner was incredibly accommodating to us. She waited outside for us when we arrived to guide me to where was best to park.

My partner is also gluten free, and the owner went through the menu with us and said what dishes could be made gluten free. The chef also makes homemade gluten free bread which was incredibly tasty!

The portion sizes were very generous, and the standard of food was outstanding. The prices were very reasonable as well, meaning the whole meal was excellent value for money.

The pub itself is beautiful and the village is very pretty and quiet.

Overall if myself and my partner come back to Shropshire we will definitely come here again. Thank you for making the last evening of our holiday so special.

This is our all time favourite place to eat! The food is just incredible, definitely a cut above the rest. The staff and owner are so welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. We take our 3 year old who they always take the time to play with. Whether it’s lunch or dinner we know the service will be great and the food just divine not to mention the cool drinks they make us too! We have been visiting the Oak for years and will continue to do so.

110% recommend!

Visited this restaurant for the first time tonight. The menu, staff, venue and food were excellent. Both my wife and I (and our dog) were made to feel most welcome. They have managed to create an amazing place to eat with quality food well above the norm.
Will recommend to all out friends and family.
I just wish we lived closer so we could visit more often.

The Oak isn't cheap but it's definitely worth the money that you pay. We went for Sunday Lunch. The beef was wonderfully medium rare and my girlfriend's fish was really good. Puddings are a must. If back in the area I would definitely come back

A wonderful experience. We booked both rooms and dinner, and the time spent there was a delight; from the design and furnishings to the amazing food, wine and service. Lene is an absolutely superb host and our visit to The Oak proved to be the best ' dinner, bed and breakfast' we have had in this country. We can only give The Oak the highest recommendation possible.
Have visited several times now and the quality is superb.
Just visited for lunch... excellent.
Back again for New Year's Eve, another excellent evening.
Another superb lunch visit.

Everything about this pub is outstanding! The food was absolutely incredible, so many different choices flavour wise but not masses of things to choose from which, in my opinion is perfect! There’s honestly, something for everyone.
We had a group of 8 of us and the service was just outstanding, we had the most wonderful time. If you’re in the area or even if you’re not, visit The Oak in Wigmore! You will not be disappointed. Also, if you don’t go then you’re truly missing out!!!!

Thank you The Oak for such a fantastic memorable time!

As soon as we opened the door we were greeted with the warmest most genuine welcome we've ever experienced. We knew this was going to be memorable.

We had Sunday lunch (pork and beef). Then the two of us couldn't decide what to have for pudding so... we ordered three!

Everything was delicious.

Service was impeccable throughout. We knew there were regulars in there but not once were we made to feel any different.

We'll be going back on our next holiday in January.

If you're within even an hour of this place, go!

Set in a beautifully converted building, this is an absolute gem of a restaurant in rural Herefordshire. The menu is modern and inventive with local produce at the heart of their ethos. We’ve eaten here on a number of occasions and each time been impressed by the quality of the food, service, plus the owner is friendly and welcoming. Can’t wait to visit again soon!

We have been to the oak numerous time and it has been the best meal of my life each time, the scallops for starter and steak for main course are the best meal I have ever had. Great service and very friendly. Perfect

Visited here one Saturday morning in January '23 after a trip to Wigmore Castle. In need of refreshment we tried The Oak and were given a very warm welcome. Ordered triple cooked chips and a pot of coffee. There were 3 of us and we all said they were the best chips and coffee we'd ever tasted. Add to that great service, comfortable sofa's, warm fire and a very pleasant hostess and you'll understand why I'd thoroughly recommend a visit to this establishment.

We stayed here for two nights to attend a nearby wedding. The food in the restaurant was outstanding. Our room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The host was a delight, and breakfast was delicious. I cannot recommend the Oak more highly for a special meal or for a comfortable romantic getaway.

Incredible food. The Chateaubriand melted in the mouth, the chips were crisp outside yet so fluffy inside, and the Cavalo Nero was a taste sensation. Cannot recommend highly enough.
