My wife needed double cream to make a banoffee pie. The shelves were empty on Friday during bank holiday jubilee. We asked Francine, who was filling the milk shelves on a step ladder. She stopped what she was doing and went out back to look for double cream. There was none there and she came back with single cream. She asked what our plans were and offered an alternative - put coconut milk in the fridge and it turns to whipped cream - who knew?? We carried on with our shop and as we were choosing crisps, Francine came from nowhere with a pot of double cream, telling us it had just come off the truck. In my experience, workers in other shops would not have even got off the step ladder, so we wanted to share our great experience with Francine and make sure it doesn’t go unnoticed. Just waiting for the banoffee pie to set now. Thanks!

Cons: EXPENSIVE!!!
Pros: You can feel the difference between the main chains. Obviously the M&S has an excellent quality of food, clean floor, price tags - no confusion! Helpful staff. Food quality is important for me. Highly recommended to everyone who is looking after their health

Only place I could a courgette that weekend. Apparently a European wide courgette shortage. Anyway they had a pack of 3 organic ones. They have a great selection of fresh fruit and veg and some great ready meals and side dishes. Wine selection is good too. Great location for mersey retail park which now has cinema. Great helpful and friendly staff too.

Went to Edge Lane at 06:00 and there was nothing in there, had to go to Speke, which wasn't great for stock, but a lot better than Edge Lane!! Staff had a lot more urgency about them and they even had time to have a look for stock which we made the trip especially for, Mathew and Michael seemed like nothing was too much trouble!

Lovely food and staff are all very friendly and helpful. Usually get some bargains in the reduced price items too. A great place to shop.

Picked up parcel from customer services and then done a bit of shopping, ham some steak pies cheese so nothing fancy. Shop is good to visit and very good atmosphere pleasant visit all round

Very busy but easy to get around. Such a pleasant gentleman on checkiut - he made the visit wilorthwhile. Recommend this store.
