Co-op Food - South Woodford - George Lane

Literally left a hospital letter of mine I called in to check if they got it thank goodness they did and they kept it save till I was able to come and collect it

Just wanted to share my experience from today at your store. I just popped in for a quick shop with my 2 years old, he was very moody and started nearly to cry when we were waiting in the queue. The lady at the till was serving an other customer but when she heard that my son was about to cry straight away she reacted, she gave him some paper cocomelon toys which made my baby so happy straight away.
These kind of little things make such a big difference, she really went that extra mile to make customers happy & help a struggling mum. I just want to say thank you again for her kindness.

Good service....bit pricey

We were delighted when this local store opened with late closing, a cashpoint and the ability to buy quirky things like non-dairy chocolate without travelling over a mile. But unfortunately there are a lot of problems at this Co-Op to do with with staff management, competence and motivation. It is rare to have staff on both the tills and the e-tellers so e-telling customers often have to wait for the till customers' transactions to finish before they can pay; staff on the tills can be disinterested and impatient with customers; and only a minority of staff seem to enjoy their work or have even a rudimentary knowledge of the stock.

There are also a lot of minor issues: the e-tellers are very slow; things go in and out of stock randomly; the fresh produce often isn't, etc. that all drag down my enthusiam for shopping here.

Shopped there 2 weeks ago . Went to pay but wouldnt take old £ 10 for payment. Explained it was still legal tender until March 1st.
Not the fault of the girl seving though as manager had made this rule.Wouldnt take my money so didnt take the shopping.

Generally this Co-op is a shambles but its so convenient for us I still end up visiting a couple of times a week. The tills are the worst part, 2 barely functioning self-service checkouts that only take card payment, and one staffed till means its not often you can escape a big queue. Also be careful of the offers as several times I have bought items apparently on offer only to be charged full price, especially the cat food 2 for £6 offer :(

Daily theft is a series issue that their £70 million investment in anti theft measures don't seem to have yet tackled for this store. And it's shoppers that have to foot the bill

This is the worst Co op!! Never answered the phone!! Called 15 times this evening to get them to substitute my white loaf with any white bread that they had!! So looks like I cannot make a sandwich as the most important part was out of stock!! But still on the menu online. How you not answer the phone?? I want to give this store -0 stars!!!
