Mad Jak

Excellent place for alterations. Went the extra mile to turn my items around at short notice so that I could wear them on holiday - done perfectly and at a very reasonable price too. Lovely team in the shop.

I love Mad Jak, slightly biased as I worked there for a while, (and loved it )
Carolyn has a real eye for fabrics and in my opinion has the best range I have found anywhere.
She also makes incredible clothes and sells clothes that you can't buy in high street shops .I would be lost without MadJak, I quilt and make some of my own clothes and its great to know I can just pop in and get the things I need ,and a few I didn't know I needed!
As I already said ,I am a bit biased, but to me it is my favourite shop ever !

Always met with a welcome smile. Friendly and helpful staff and the shop is a gem in a lovely village in the Surrey Hills and you can buy clothes and haberdashery which is becoming harder to find in local shops. Extremely well worth a visit.

I have just returned from shopping at Mad Jak Ltd, and what a wonderful experience it always is. More social than shopping !! I have been shopping at this wonderful fabric shop in Shere for at least 25 years. The owner, Carolyn and her staff are always so polite, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Carolyn always remembers faces, and it makes it a pleasure to return and spend more money !!! They will lift heavy rolls of fabric out for you to look at, they never mind if you change your mind. It is very clear they work as a team, and their aim is to ensure their customers leave with the fabric they want, and they are happy. I would never shop anywhere else for my dress fabrics. The shop is a dressmakers heaven !!! If you are looking to buy dress fabric, and want to feel a valued customer, go to Mad Jak. You will not be disappointed.
