Hignetts Of Pontesbury

An amazing shop with the best custard slices in the country. Genuinely, only try them if your OK with having an addiction added to your life. They're that good. Also amazing staff and the pretty much everything on there is delicious.

Hignetts is a family firm running a business in the spirit of the shops I remember from childhood - hugely helpful and polite, offering highest quality traditional butchery and groceries, with much fine local seasonal produce including wimberries and locally raised meat. Fine home-produced Scotch eggs and pies in variiety.
Can't reccomend too highly.

Visited a few times whilst on a short break in Pontesbury.
The shop has everything you could need or want.
But the bakery is amazing. Lovely friendly ladies, scrumptious cakes and pies but the best is the lovely freshly prepared baguettes, sandwiches etc. We would get some for lunch and drive to the nearby Earls Hill to eat out lovely lunch and then walk the dogs.
Highly recommended and will be returning for more next time we stay in the area.

Good range of food, hot or cold pies, pasties, sausage rolls, some vegan items.

This is a place I divert to if I am in that part of the country. Their cakes/ bread are cooked on site, and local suppliers are used. Good value food, sandwiches, cakes, bread. Good quality, where you can taste the flavours of fresh food. Friendly staff. Recommend. Leave some for me please.

Lovely meat and the cakes are to much of a distraction.
Pork and steak baps are good value.

The best butcher anywhere around bar none. Nick often has great offers on and the famous butter buns are legendary.
Very good stocks of veg, groceries, bakery items etc, definitely worth a visit.

Not telling you any more. Otherwise there won't be anything left for me !!!!. Seriously love to call for a breakfast brunch/ sandwich etc. Their meat is absolutely superb and very good value for money. Not necessarily the cheapest- but at least you can eat/ taste enjoy knowing its local produce. P.s. save some for me.

I discovered this place this week on a new route and have been in everyday this week.

Best bacon bap I've had in years. Oh my god, the donuts, they are so soft. My mouth is watering just thinking about them.

You won't be disappointed if you get the chance to get there.

Please don't buy all the donuts if you go, please leave some for me..

Produce is of high quality but reasonably priced. Sausages are very tasty. Staff knowledgeable & friendly. The vending machine for fresh milk is brilliant. Well worth a visit.

First class produce, some of the best meat, sausages and burgers we have eaten really delicious. The bakery products same quality. Definitely worth a visit.

This is my local deli. Loved this place for years and I always have to phone the family if I am going on a cake run. Definitely worth a stop.

Excellent choice of quality meat, helpful friendly staff..and the bakery should come with free entry to slimming clubs ! Just fabulous cakes and pastries ! sooo tempting
