I spent a while looking for a badminton racket re-stringing service and was pleased to find Essex Racket Stringing service. I contacted Sam, agreed a convenient time to drop off the rackets. Met Sam, who was friendly and knowledgeable. Discussed my requirements for the rackets, string tension and type, and was quoted what I considered a very competitive price. Left the rackets with him and got a call the next day, rackets are ready. Me and my badminton buddies were very pleased with the results. After my first contact, I have since had other rackets restrung. And the level of service was the same - excellent. No complaints, only commendations. Sam provided a great service restringing my racket. He asked questions that I had never considered to help select what strings would be best. For example I have tennis elbow so he explained what suitable to soften the impact on my elbow. Many thanks Sam.

Sam did a good job with my squash racquets and also went above and beyond putting a protective slip on the frame.
He was also very accomodating with getting the stringing done on short notice.

Ex-D1/US college player and Hong Kong national team, but been out of action for years (decades!!). Been experimenting with string combinations in the modern game for my 'classic' Wilson Pro Staffs. Found Sam's website who offered drop-off overnight stringing service. Normally strung with Wilson Champs Choice but he recommended Solinco which I've heard much about, and their Tour Bite/Vanquish which would be similar to the Alu Power Rough/natural gut. Sam's player and stringer experience really shone through as he made an excellent recommendation for the Solinco hybrid/tension combo based on how I described the way I play and my preferred racket feel. The Solinco tour bite is 'harder' but crispier than Alu Power Rough, and I particularly love the sound it makes on high spin shots. It does feel tighter than string tension vs. the softer Alu power rough but an overall solid reco and hybrid string set-up. Sam even put in 'old school' leather power pads at the throat which I'm used to. Essex Racket Stringing is a definite recommendation for all players including advanced/pro. I desperately need my racquets restrung and regripped - Sam was extremely helpful in advising me on the strings I was looking for and then called me to collect the racquets only a day later, just in time for my next game!
