Alan's Records

Alan's Records is a gem of a shop. The owner is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful man who has a genuine passion for vinyl and extensive experience. The store has a wide selection of LP's from all genres although it has a particularly excellent Jazz section amongst others. The pricing is fair, and reasonable.

Great and 'proper' used record shop. Alan was friendly and very welcoming. Stock caters for every genre you could think of. Prices are very reasonable. What more could you want? Highly recommended.

Great collection of vinyl records, especially in jazz, hip hop and reggae. Friendly staff, by which I mean the owner Alan who is very kind and a pleasure to chat with. Had a great time browsing through the store, and Alan even allows customers to play any record of their choosing on the store's in house player. Great experience would come back again any time I visit London.

One of the best record shops in London. Good prices and great selection of music on vinyl & CD. Be prepared to spend a few hours digging the crates. It's worth it!

Excellent shop, packed with secondhand treasures. I feel I only scratched the surface of what was there on my first visit. Lovely to be browsing racks and listening to other shoppers’ picks, all in the company of my 17-year-old son (introducing him to this kind of music purchasing). Great staff. We will be back.

I'm sure I've reviewed this fantastic little place elsewhere. But I'll repeat, this is one of just a handful of independent records shops left in London, just out of the heart of East Finchley.

Browse the racks of second hand vinyl, rock, and roll, classic and punk and new wave. Loads of rare records and collectibles.

Alan, the owner and the many knowledgeable patrons are always talking about records and bands and are really fun to listen to in full flow. If you're after something special I'm sure he can get it for you if it's available.

Unbelievable digs. If you’re looking for cheap second hand UK funk/soul records, look no further. I was in there all day, it was excellent chatting with Alan and the clientele - he brought me a cup of tea as well. Very engaging selection! There’s gold in them bins.

Best second hand record shop in London. Excellent stock, very fair prices, well organised and Alan, the very friendly knowledgeable owner, is always good for a chat. There's also The Windsor Castle pub about five minutes away if you need to stiffen your resolve for a big purchase.

Amazing shop with a huge selection of records and CDs. Alan is a warm, friendly guy who knows his music and prices his records to sell. We try to get into Alan's whenever I'm up in London, there's always a tea on offer, great conversation and a laugh or two each visit. Highly recommended record store.
