SPAR - Whitmore-Polesworth

Competitively priced family business with Post Office, this Spar has been run by the same family in the village for decades. There is a cash back facility here at the Post Office and a cash point machine is conveniently place outside with withdrawal charges. Parking on street is usually available and the village car park is further up on the same side of the road.

Great little shop,loads of good produce and the lovely gaytons bread and rolls,also a post office,well worth a visit

Only recently moved to Polesworth but what a revelation! Staff in this Spar are so helpful and friendly and post office service is great too!

The service I have just received in this branch (Saturday 3rd feb at 6.30pm) was nothing short of disgusting. Having researched online that my local spar was a DHL drop off location I had a parcel that needed returning so I went to drop it off this evening. I asked the girl behind the counter who seemed to be the only one on shift or certainly a senior member hence being behind the counter if I could drop off my parcel, she said to me she didn’t know if they accepted DHL and thought it was only Royal Mail, I then showed her my phone as I had the DHL website open which had a picture of the premises and details stating they accepted DHL parcels, rather than offering to help or find a solution, she looked at me with a rather vacant expression and muttered “I dunno” she then proceeded to walk to the other end of the counter and started doing something completely different leaving me standing their. I then walked after her and asked when would somebody be in who would be able to take my parcel, and she replied “between 9 and 1 tomorrow” having worked in retail management for over 15 years and priding myself on giving each customer who entered my store the best service possible, I find it astounding how poor the the level of customer service is at certain places, if I ever caught a member of my team being so rude to a customer they would be out of a job. The girl in question I’d say is late 20’s early 30’s and has dark curly hair, and since having since spoken to two members of my family both of whom have worked in that particular branch in the past have informed me her name is Charlotte. If you have problems being polite, welcoming and helpful might I suggest not working in a customer facing environment, needles to say I will not be returning.
