New management. Very kindly staff nice to meet the new staff and the manger. They reduced the price of the most products. They also put more variety in the shop. I love to use this shop

Tried to scam me out of money by claiming my card was declined on a specific date (wasn't in there on that day because I was moving houses), won't say what was purchased also claimed tobacco products were bought (nobody in my household smokes). Also when paying by card machine quite often £4.20 will turn into £42.00 when they type it in so make sure you double check before paying. Best avoided.

Attempted to purchase cigarettes, bare in mind I look about 12 so of course I always have my ID on me incase. The man asked for my ID and persisted to tell me it wasn’t mine! I have never had this problem elsewhere. I am pregnant so have put on a little weight upon my face, I did not appreciate being told I was fat by this man. It was only when I’d called my partner down and others in the shop were looking at my ID and telling the man it was clearly mine that he served me. I will not be coming here again, this man was clearly on some kind of power trip.

The old man was accusing my black friend of stealing from the shop even when the cameras were on and he could see that he did , but yet he still searched him and so my friend to empty his pockets. Another problem is that I got to a football college and they know we come there to buy food and drinks so they started exaggerating the price and you have to spend £3 minimum for card payment, when they know majority of those student never carry cash or have intent to buy things over £3

This morning I went to buy a regular gas filler for lighter etc as I always buy it from them , the lady first says it’s £7.99 , when I asked how come then she said no it’s £2.99 ! I then said I always buy it from you for £1.29 but she refused listening to me , she refused issuing receipt too , after requesting that receipt is necessary for it then she gave me the receipt, I always buy this item for £1.29 and last week was the last time that I bought one , be careful with these guys , they over charging customers or they try to cheat , I never shop in there anymore , they loose customers only because they’re greedy

Since its changed hands its a mess. Different employee’s saying different things. One week i can pay by card for elec top up, next week someone saying no i cant and they Have never let people pay by card, yet I did the week before. Cash machine no longer in use but no signs up to tell customers this or removal of the cash machine so wasted journeys to get cash out. If i cant pay by card to top up and you no longer offer a cash machine, do you expect me to walk to another shop get cash and come back? Bad business sense and staff are generally un interested in customer service, which is quite foolish considering tesco and aldi are a short walk away. Used this shop for 17 years to support local business but will never step foot in there again as they clearly don't value local residents only making money.

Poor selection of lunch items, minimum spend on card transactions, cashier was extremely rude! Shop at the Queen's Square instead.
