The Godminster Shop

I lived a short period of time in Bruton. Now I am in Nice France, and there is no way I can fathom this, but they sell the heart shaped cheddar in the organic shop down my road! I was so bummed the other day when I noticed this, and still at this hour I am still wondering how this is even possible! Extraordinary World!

We are so glad we ordered the wedding cheese cake from Godminster to have in addition to our traditional wedding cake - it was perfect for evening snacks and for those guests who didn't have sweet tooths. Our guests loved the variety of cheese, and we had plenty leftover to take home to enjoy after the wedding too - it kept very well! We served ours with grapes, crackers and chutneys.

Just had to visit a cheese shop where we had just parked for a quick walk around Bruton. The gent behind the counter was very affable and generous with his samples of cheese, vodkas and chutneys. We purchased a few items but the smoked cheddar was phenomenal!

Fantastic cheese shop. We arrived 20 minutes before close but Ant not only offered to stay open longer, but also suggested a cheese tasting to make sure we chose our favourites. He was so knowledgable, passionate and answered any questions we had. Detailed and informative about cheese, but also a wonderfully charming man who clearly loves his products. I would absolutely visit again!

This is such a great Little Shop offering many unique always high quality products and a lovely service. Definitely worth giving it a try I always walk out with something new as I don't visit here as often as I'd like.

Great selection of local cheeses, oils and produce. really helpful staff that gave some great reccomendations. cheeses are available in a range of sizes and of them are great. if i had to reccomend only one I'd go with the black truffle. the cheese is extruded so I'd reccomend keeping it in the fridge and grating it on everything.

A brilliant Fromagarie, Possibly the best in the UK. I discovered Godminster cheese from my Employer, who provides Godminster Cheese at Christmas as a gift to staff, and it has to be the best Cheddar I have ever tasted.

So much that I made the trek to visit the Godminster shop on a free Sunday afternoon and I was not dissapointed, the shop is filled with not only cheese but high quality cocktail mixes, wines, other luxury food products and kitchen utensils such as cheese knives.

Definitely worth a visit, even if a considerable drive away, visit the Godminster shop and then enjoy a meal at one if the quality local pubs/ restaurants and take an explore around the village, there are lots of beautiful things to doscover in this lovely Somerset Village

I highly recommend Godminster for their celebration cheese cakes! We had one for our wedding last year and it went down a real treat. As cheese lovers we knew this type of cake was something we wanted from the beginning and after meeting/tasting some of their cheese at the NEC wedding fayre we knew we had to have them. It tasted so good on the day and was something our guests wouldn't stop talking about for weeks! Thank you for everything!! xx

I actually didn't shop here, but the store was amazing and products looked wonderful! Really cute little shop. I managed to get myself stranded and everyone was so helpful and made the situation less scary. Special thanks to Louise for dropping me somewhere to wait for my friends. Above and beyond for someone that wasn't even a paying customer. Also, it was very busy with customers when I was in which speaks volumes! Thank you!!

Very well informed and friendly staff. A good range of local cheeses available. Slightly more expensive but worth it with the additional choices available. They do have good offers on certain lines.

Smoked cheese from here is my favourite. But the shop has a range of products and snacks. Well worth a visit.

If you've never tried the Godminster organic vintage cheese then you are missing out. It is AMAZING! We went to the shop just for this then the man in the shop let us try the black truffle cheese....oh my days,I loved it. & when we got to the till,because we had spent over £15,we got the black truffle one for free. Lovely little shop.

We booked the wedding cheesecake for our wedding earlier this month, guests and ourselves were highly rating not only the quality but the beauty of the product. Very impressed and shall definitely use Godminster again in the near future. Friendly staff both in person and over the phone.

Five star service and product. We popped into the Godminster cheese shop today and were treated to a very generous tasting of 4 exceptional Cheddars. It was so hard to choose but eventually we opted for the cheese with added truffle - it was sublime.

Great little farm shop, bought a homemade meat veg pasty, ate outside with a cup of tea, delicious. Good selection of homemade produce, vegetables, all the usual farm shop artisan goodies and an awesome butchery.

A phenomenal cheese experience! A friend and I were exploring the area when we saw a sign for cheese tasting, and we decided to pop in. What a great decision! The shop was warm and welcoming and had a very homely feel, and the man who greeted us was so cheerful. We admired the beautifully packaged cheeses (which I am certain I will have to buy for birthday presents because they look so good) and then we tried some with some biscuits. The smoked cheese was absolutely heavenly, and we heard about how it was made. Everything is sourced from local ingredients and made in the area, which I find incredible - it's rare to be able to eat something truly locally made. They also had some other related items for sale, for example I tried some of their horseradish flavoured vodka which I have never seen before, and some fruit cake. It was all fantastic and I will definitely be back for more. I only went in to try some cheese but left with a spring in my step and a hefty amount of cheese in my pocket!
