Wanting to take magic into your own hands? Visit the Alquimista Café Bar in Antigua, Guatemala. It is a beautiful bar with a terraced-rooftop. The lights, music, and decorations add to the magical ambiance. Their fresh-served potions are delicious. I will definitely be coming back here.

Enchanted café with incredible atmosphere 🧙🏼‍♀Recommended cocktails: Poison No.7, Unicorn Essence, and Dragon’s Breath. The tapas I recommend are: the goat cheese, apple, and pesto breads. Service is so good! Ivan, the owner, is so nice and even had a glass of wine with us while we played cards against humanity. The details and personal touches really complete the medieval vibes. 🧜🏻‍♀🦄🐉🏰

It’s a small bar with an nice rooftop. The food is also delicious.

Gorgeous stone statues elegantly guard, while sipping creative and interactive potion mixing cocktails. The interior is a visual respite, with elevated Harry Potter hints in the decor. hints. Each drink has an intention and prepared with exquisite ingredients. If you are in Antigua I highly recommend this spot, the alchemist will transform your drink in gold. I took my mom there and it was an experience to be remembered.

El Alquimista is quickly becoming the hottest spot in Antigua!

I first came here for a friend’s birthday party and came back for one of their themed trivia nights and had a blast. The owner has a special charm that creates a welcoming ambiance. Both times I went, he was performing double duty as a host and in creating stellar cocktails. His passion clearly shines through with every interaction and detail of the place.

While the inside is cozy, they also have a beautiful small courtyard and a rooftop. I’ll definitely be returning my next visit to Antigua.

A magical place to have a drink - cocktails, tea, or coffee. Color changing experiences for your taste buds! If you love Harry Potter come and have a butterbeer and a chocolate frog! Ask for a board game and enjoy their terrace.

El Alquimista has a magical, witchy theme with both decor and drinks. My favorite drinks are their Butterbeer and the Jamaica juice (not together, obviously). The owner, Ivan, genuinely cares about the customer experience and he hosts a number of community-focused events, from trivia to language exchanges. I even had my birthday party there so private events are possible too!

A wonderful experience to have if you're visiting Antigua or want to stick around for the witchy vibes. Check out the view from the terrace too, it's beautiful.

I really enjoyed the “Potion Making” experience, super unique idea! The service was great, and the atmosphere is super nice as well.

This bar was something so unique and special in Antigua! They have a great list of cocktails! They terrace on the top also had amazing views of Antigua that was an added plus. We loved how true this bars theme was. The drink specials and trivia night were an added bonus! I would highly recommend this bar if you are visiting Antigua! The bartender was really nice and helpful too during my visit. I cannot wait to visit this bar again when I return!

Such an amazing place to hang. It is my favorite to-go bar in Antigua. Perfect place to try cool magical drinks and have the best time. Hands down a place to visit!

I’m not someone who often writes reviews but this establishment was certainly worth being given the credit it deserves.
I visited El Alquimista Café Bistro today and had a devine experience. The owner- Ivan was extremely welcoming and friendly and a great host, he was happy to sit and listen to me chatter away and is a very kind interesting gentleman. I was very indecisive as to what I wanted to order but he was very helpful at making recommendations to my taste. The coffee is exquisite! It was a delight to drink great coffee for the first time in a very long time! The decor and design has a very nice elegant ambience. Outside there is a rooftop seating area perfect for sitting in the sun and a lovely cosy courtyard with a wishing well surrounded by beautiful plants adding to the uniqueness of the establishments aura. The best and most pleasant experience I’ve had in Latin America. Couldn’t recommend more!

El Alquimista Café Bar is such a great spot in Antigua. I especially love the wide array of events they host- there's always something fun happening there! They opened their doors for me to put on a flower crown workshop and we had a great turnout and were treated great by their kind and attentive staff. And you've just got to try the Butter Beer - it's delicious!

I loved this place. It’s a great bar, awesome rooftop to spend chilled afternoons and a quirky bar that makes it stand out from the crowd. The cocktails are unique and tasty and there are always great happy hour deals to be had. Ivan is the business owner and his passion for what he does comes through- he’s also super cute! This is a hidden gem not to be missed! 🙂🙂
