Paradise Divers

My husband and I did our open water and advanced open water with Paradise Divers. The instructors were knowledgable and professional, but still a lot of fun! We always felt safe with all of our training and dives. Paradise was flexible and worked with us get both of our certifications within our limited time constraints. Josh was incredibly welcoming & helpful. He really treats everyone like family. We stayed in one of the single rooms - rooms are basic, but they do the trick! We didn't make use of the shared kitchen due to food allergies, but the on site restaurant was great! Overall, great people, great vibes, and great dives! I would definitely recommend Paradise Divers ☺

Paradise Divers is the best place for diving in Utila!

They have great instructors and Josh the owners is a great guy and will try and help you with anything you need. I did my rescue diver and wreak specialist course there, and would have also done divemaster but did not have the time. Accommodation is included with your courses and you get free fun dives also, great prices for this.

They have hot water, a small restaurant and a place to do laundry. Location is perfect as it very central and only a 2minute walk from the ferry.

Very chilled and the dock is a great place to watch sunset.

Would 100% recommend diving here and will definitely be back for more diving here!

We had an incredible experience at Paradise. Josh was very responsive for booking and made us feel welcome right away. My friend did the open water course and had nothing but good things to say about the instructors. I did 10 fun dives and had a blast. Very professional staff. If you're looking for fun in Utila, Paradise is the spot!

I had a great time during my open water certification here. Skilled instructors, good equipment and a great atmosphere in general and it is the cheapest place to get your certifications on the island. So I can highly recommend this place. All the people and the stuff are so friendly and even after I finished my course I stayed a bit longer just to fully enjoy the vibe at this incredible place. Also do 100% the water cay trip with paradise, was an insanely cool experience

I had a great time here doing my diver's rescue and EFR course! My instructor Rodrigo was the best! It's a smaller school than others, which makes it more cozy with a family feel. The people are cool. The hostel is really nice with 3 bed dorms. The kitchen could use improvement, but at least it's functional (and many other accommodations don't have any). I recommend doing the sunday Water Cay day trip, as it was a lot of fun! I was very tempted to stay longer and do my dive masters here.

I first came across Paradise through a word of mouth recommendation and I'm so glad I followed up. Completed my Divemaster certification under the wings of the experienced and knowledgeable instructors they have here. It's a great shop for meeting/speaking/learning languages and can get taught by their multilingual instructors making it a much more personable experience. They are flexible with the dive sites and go an extra mile to accommodate customers schedules and needs to make sure customers can get a variety of dives. Everyone is friendly and willing to help out, learn from each other to be better divers, and they also throw a great party! Plenty of opportunities for beach BBQs, water cay and sandy cay trips etc. Great fresh fish from Zorro on your doorstep too! What more can you ask for...There's a reason why the shop is called Paradise, great dives, great people and great memories. Thanks Josh

relajado buddy”Great atmosphere, really kind and experience staff. The location is awesome, just in front of the sea. Best price for diving with free acomodation but the kitchen is a total mess. If you are looking for diving like in a family that’s your place.

Paradise is the place to be on Utila. I did my Open Water Course here and can definitely recommend it!! The dive sites around Utila are awesome and the atmosphere in Paradise Divers is amazing! Perfect place to learn diving

Amazing place. This place has been great. The accommodation is not fancy or anything (and the kitchen is not nice) but the whole vibe there is amazing. Josh the owner has been helping out with other requests regarding matters in Honduras as well even before we confirmed that we were coming. The diver instructors are very friendly and good as well. And a big bonus is that this place is the cheapest on Utila. I would recommend this place to anyone!!!

The staff is the best! Just spent a week at Paradise Divers. A back packer dive shop. Josh the owner is super chill and sets the vibe for the entire operation. More than a dive shop it is a family.

Did my open water here last year but was time restricted with a full time job at home. I was planning on doing just my advanced this year, then continuing south on my year-long trip. But I decided to stay for the dive master program instead! Although I got bored by my 3rd week on Utila, I still enjoyed the 2 months I spent there and it's thanks to the Paradise family.

Paradise has a fun vibe. It's next door to the ferry dock, so in the center of town. The owner Josh goes out of his way to make things better & to help you with your goals. For example, I wanted 100 dives before I left so he made sure there were enough boats I could dive on. There was a problem with the fan in one room not reaching the top bunk, so he bought another fan. The mattress was really old & I could feel the springs, so he swapped it out.

They made some overall improvements from last year, like adding ladders to the bunk beds. They got more new equipment: better fins, masks, & wetsuits. More recently, they added a private beach area for relaxation (or partying) in the sand by the dock!

The kitchen is still nearly useless & storing food there leaves a 99% chance of it getting stolen whether you label it or not. So if you do cook there, I recommend eating everything right away cuz writing your name on leftovers does not deter theives.

The captain curses & yells a lot, but they say he knows the waters better than anyone so they keep him. Don't take his yells personally, most of the time its nonsense. But if your safety is at risk, he'll yell also so don't completely tune out his yells.

When the boat returns from diving, it's a mad rush to clean & store equipment & remove tanks from the boat. Any other time of day, everyone is chill.

There is a lot that can be improved in the hostel & Josh is clearly working on making it better. For example, the toilet seats keep breaking off no matter how many times they're reattached. Please do speak up if you encounter problems because Josh is helpful in solving them!

If you're on a budget, staying in the dorms will remind you of that (it's included with diving). Bring your own toilet paper and hand soap cuz it runs out fast at the dorm bathrooms. The private rooms are cleaner, probably cuz less people stay in them cuz you have to pay extra for them. You can also pay extra extra for AC, just be aware power goes out on the whole island sometimes.

The little inconveniences are good to know for future divers, but didn't hinder my experience. I plan on returning again!

Amazing place. Simply. The vibe is great and the staff super professional. You don’t find a better soul in Honduras than the owner Josh. Such a great guy. This is also the cheapest place in the world to do your OW so what’s not to like? The kitchen is not worth mentioning but the food on Utila is super cheap.

Perfect place to make a diving course, have some fun activities and enjoy the island life together with a heartwarming crew. Would recommend this place to everybody. The restaurant there sells delicious food. You also can prepare your own food in the kitchen (maybe an adventure).

But definitely a beautiful place. We will also come back. The prices are more than fair and the instructors are really professional.

Had an excellent experience with Paradise. A great mix of professionalism with the courses and pure fun with the vibes. Special shout out to my instructor, Rodrigo and the lovely Angele and Roxane for taking such good care of me. 10/10 would recommend :)

Did my advanced open water course with paradise and everything went great. Very convenient as you can start a course everyday. Accommodation was really good, hot water with good water pressure, and one of the only places we’ve found with a kitchen. The instructors were very accommodating when I fell sick during the course and couldn’t equalise. I was able to take a day off and then continue. Josh the owner is extremely helpful, super easy to contact on WhatsApp and responds quickly. Highly recommend !

Don’t bother going anywhere else to Dive in Utila, Paradise Divers is the only place to be ! Josh and the entire team are the most wonderful and welcoming people, incredible instructors and dive masters who very quickly became my Utilan Family. It’s centrally located and equipped with everything you’d need, and the experience you get here is unlike any other. I gave 5 stars but If I could they’d get 50, So much love to the Paradise Team!

Best place on Uttila for backpackers that want to get their scuba license! Cheap, dorms included, very chill vibe, the instructors are really professional and they know what they are doing. Felt really safe doing the course. If you search for party, you will also find party here. Kitchen is bad equipped but most people in Uttila anyway eat out and you can get a simple baleada on the street for 15 lemp (0,60€). No luxury but a real backpacker doesn't need luxury. Nice hammocks and peer with view of the sunset!

Great dive school, came to do my open water course but extended my stay to do my advance.
The dive instructors and masters are really welcoming and informative.
I felt very comfortable and safe in the water whilst having a really fun!
I would highly recommend you choose Paradise Divers.
