We had a wonderful and relaxing time at Tranquilseas. This tropical oasis nestled in Sandy Bay was the perfect respite from the cold weather at home. Conveniently located a short trip from both the airport and West End, we were able to explore this beautiful island with ease. The rooms were lovely, but the staff were the highlight of our stay. The breakfast was amazing and we loved starting the day with a tropical smoothie. The dive shop made arranging snorkeling trips a breeze. Thank you to Franklin and Delsey for your smiles and friendship. We dream of returning for another stay!

I have been returning to this small, intimate resort for many years. It is set in tropical gardens with amazing views and all the rooms have been recently decorated. The food and drinks are lovely, the breakfasts are epic. If you are a non-diver like me, you can just snorkel up and down the reef in front of the hotel or book tours. I saw a spotted eagle ray cruising just off the hotel's dock. The dolphin experience and botanical gardens are a short walk away. Already planning the next visit.

One of the things that struck me about Tranquilseas on my first stay there the other week was how many people I met who were repeat visitors - and I could see why. I loved the small nature of the resort, making it feel cozy, peaceful, and personalized. Despite the size, there was great attention to providing a range of options for a wonderful experience that rival any large resort. Great quality and super personable dive instructors in Emil and Peter, and I loved the smaller groups than many other dive boats I saw had. Wonderfully designed rooms (I stayed in Eagle Ray) with unique layouts, kind and attentive staff who learn your name, great spa treatments, kayaks/paddleboards for free... I could go on. I'll be back!

Superb Eco-Lodge in the Sandy Bay area of Roatan. Excellent diving and snorkeling from their dive center with three trips a day. Very good food, especially the tomato and coconut cream seafood soup and fish sandwiches. I usually don't drink cocktails, but couldn't resist theirs. Probably their best feature is the gracious staff that makes for a relaxing stay. Travelers should enjoy the diving and swimming from their dock relaxation platform, but there is not a usable beach here.

TLDR: I (25f) traveled by myself to Honduras to get my scuba certification and chose to stay with TranquilSeas and do everything through their attached dive shop. I have never had such an amazing experience in my life.

I stayed for 5 days and never left the property except to go out on the dive boat. I'm now begging everyone I've ever known to come back here with me ASAP. I'm almost willing to empty out my 401k and go to a casino and try to win enough money to buy the whole resort. The rooms and property are so beautiful (I stayed in Hummingbird) and there really are only 9 rooms so the whole place is never super crowded and you end up knowing everyone by the end.

The employees were the best part. On my first day I went to the bar/restaurant and they all already knew my name. I had the same server every morning and the same (but different) server every night at dinner (Franklyn-- was my best friend by the end since i came alone). I ate every meal at the restaurant and was continuously blown away by how amazing every single thing on the menu was, and I can tell what mediocre restaurant food is, this was not it. Everyone working in the dive shop was so cool and my instructor Emil was great.

I felt too taken care of and too luxurious I actually don't think this is a place for someone like me, it should be a place for royalty and millionaires. I want to work here and come here everyday. If you guys are hiring for anything let me know!!!

Our stay at Tranquilseas far exceeded our expectations. The staff were the friendliest, warmest, most welcoming people we have encountered. They felt like family by the end of our stay. From Delcie, Denry, David, Franklin, Samir in the restaurant / bar (who all always had such a ready smile and greeting for us) to Ellie, Chantel, Rudy and Emilio in the dive shop / dive boat, to Jan at the front desk - we could not have felt more welcomed. The hotel itself is nestled amongst the lush tropical greenery, away from the hustle and bustle and is so peaceful and relaxed. It is a short drive to West End / West Bay which are close enough to easily go experience (which we did several times), but also far enough away that you are removed from the noise and dust and crowds (easily accessible by taxi). The hotel bar and restaurant are situated so that they have fabulous views of the water and every meal was so full of flavor. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. The water right off the dock is crystal clear and teeming with life - great for snorkeling. They have frequent (I think daily) dive trips that take you to see even more of the reef. The room was very comfortable and beautifully appointed. We will definitely be back!!

Amazing Experience at Tranquilseas resort. We spent an all-inclusive week there relaxing in the Treefrog room and diving with Roatan Best Dives daily - we couldn't imagine a better experience! Thanks to the entire staff - wonderful food in the restaurant too!

It was one of the best relaxing vacations that I've ever had.
From the start, they had a driver pick us up from the airport with my name on it.
When we arrived, Jordan, the manager, welcomed our group and showed us around. Everyone at Tranquilseas was pleasant and welcoming. Eli helped us at the dive shop and in accessing yoga mats. It was amazing to be able to exercise on our balcony overlooking the ocean.

We went on 4 dives during our stay, and our dive master, Chantel was absolutely amazing. Her energy, honesty, warmth and wealth of knowledge was incredible.

The food was sooooo good. Portion sizes were bigger than we expected. Compliments to the chef and his staff! Everything is cooked in house and you can really taste the difference in their food . The longer wait time makes sense because they make everything fresh to order.
We tried other restaurants that were in the area, but were disappointed in the food. Each time, we all said that we should've just eaten at Tranquilseas. All of the wait staff were so pleasant and gave great recommendations on food choices.
Our rooms were cleaned on a daily basis and liked that they timed it so that they were cleaning when we were having breakfast.

This place is magical.
We were sad to leave after a week and hope to return in the future.

Very Beautiful resort. Our villa is geogeous. We chose the dragonfly which is perfect for a honeymoon and has the best view in the entire resort. All inclusive and great food with friendly and welcoming staff. They also have 24 hour security with a gated entrance. They are very helpful with finding you safe and reliable transportation. This resort offers diving and you can snorkel right off their beautiful private dock. We would definitely vacation here again.

I have to say, this was the best part of our two-week Costa Rica/Honduras adventure. Echoing what everyone else has already said - stunning grounds, amazingly comfortable rooms, BEST STAFF EVER, incredible drinks and food, magical dock for having a few beers and watching the sun set/cruise ships depart, AND THE HOUSE REEF IS WHERE YOU NEED TO SNORKEL. Seriously. We went to a few of the other recommended spots (per Google searching) on the island and they paled, PALED in comparison to the house reef. Caveat is you absolutely must pick your way through the front half of the reef (find a waypoint on shore so you can come back to it) since large portions come up to the low tide line and you can't swim over that. But if you pick your way through the labyrinth, on the back half it opens up to pristine coral reef (mainly hard, some soft) with abundant and healthy fish populations. And a visibility clear down to the bottom, 60-80' in some sections. It was otherworldly and the best snorkeling we've done to date.

So stay here - everything is exactly what you need it to be (staff, rooms, grounds, food/drinks) and if you're up for a little bit of a swim and some adventure in finding your way to the back of the house reef, you can easily cruise around for hours taking in the underwater majesty surrounding you. We'll be back here, without a doubt.

Extra special shout out to Harry! He went above and beyond in taking care of us every day and was a genuinely nice guy. If you're heading down, take him some Jolly Ranchers!

Beautiful diving, incredible dive masters, good food, and immaculate vibes. Everyone on staff is friendly and the service (including diving, restaurant, front office, housekeeping) was personal and outstanding. The only reason I'm not giving shout outs by name is that I'd be mentioning everyone who works there. We didn't have a single experience or interaction that was less than positive the whole time we were there.

On the diving side, my wife and I both took scuba classes and found the instruction to be excellent. All diving was well organized and safety oriented. Their rental equipment is good quality and well maintained.

Highly recommend this place and we're hoping to come back next year.

Had a fantastic scuba vacation here. The dive shop is attached to the resort and the dive masters were very flexible in what dives we wanted to do and what times, not to mention very personable and friendly. All our dives were a 2-7min boat ride from the dock- amazing! You can also swim 200m from the dock and get mind-blowing snorkeling at a reef filled with wildlife. It was very easy to find our way back because of the easily recognizable cabana at the end of the resort dock. The restaurant Sunken Fish had very good food and drinks as well as an attentive service staff; as resort guests we always had a table reserved for us. The servers remembered our frequently ordered drinks and entrees for every meal and made each of us feel valued and remembered, as well as recommended similar menu items they thought we might enjoy! During the week I was given the opportunity for yoga by the water and it was a great combination of stability, mobility and strength that left me feeling very rejuvenated. Will definitely be going back here again next time I plan a scuba and snorkel trip. I attached a photo of our view for dinner every night

We had lunch here on the recommendation of friends. Drinks are really well done, and the food was delicious. I had a vegetable fajita and added dish.

We LOVED our time here! The resort is in such a peaceful area, tucked away from the touristy part of the island. Having only a few rooms on the property makes your stay incredibly peaceful and relaxing. The food and drinks were consistently amazing. The staff was one of the best parts. By the end of your first day, you’ll know each other by first name basis. They take the time to really go above and beyond for their guests. We can’t wait to come back one day. You won’t regret your stay here!

Absolutely brilliant! A fantastic week in this tropical paradise, hosted by a wonderfully attentive staff who knew us by name. Jordan took great care of us, gave us great advice on what to do and took care of making arrangements for our activities. Snorkeling by the dock was fantastic and so calm, no waves or any current. I swam out to the reef a couple times, without flippers it was a good 10-15 minutes out there. We stayed in the Scarlet Macaw room, which was probably the nicest hotel room I’ve ever been in. Air conditioning worked great, as it was hot in late August. West End is a $2/pp taxi ride, and we took the water taxi to West Bay Beach. Incredible snorkeling there, the reef is a little closer. It was an excellent trip, I highly recommend this property and their wonderful staff!!

Gorgeous resort right on the beach! We stayed here the week before Labor Day weekend and it was quiet and exactly what we were looking for to relax and explore the island. Jordan and the staff are wonderful with recommendations, helping book excursions, etc. Our room was beautiful as is the rest of the property. We loved all trees and flowers surrounding the resort and the restaurant on site. You can swim right off the dock and see some pretty amazing fish with your snorkeling gear. At the end of the day we loved to relax on the second story of the dock watching the sunset.

If you want a quiet, private place to enjoy Roatan, and particularly if you want to get in some great diving, stay here. The Octopus room is great for a family of 4-6 (3 beds in 2 rooms), the food is great and affordable, and the staff is friendly.

You'll get to know pretty much all the staff members, and you might catch the owners there as well - they spend a lot of time there. Our kids loved Harry the waiter/bartender and he was great with them. (our son still plays online games with him, ha). We had a great experience with all the Scuba staff - Velvet and Kyle led most of our dives. David is the head bartender and he was always friendly and ready to make a quick drink. Jordan is the hotel manager. He does a great job keeping the place in great shape, and will personally take you on a tour (it's quick, because the place is small) and make sure you have what you need.

All of the staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was easy and enjoyable, and recommend other places for us to go while on the island. We visited a couple of the West Bay resorts and even spent a couple evenings in the West End. Our visit to those other resorts confirmed that we had chosen well with Tranquilseas!

For diving, this is an easy dive trip. Show up with or without your own equipment. Either way, they manage it for you: the boat leaves from the dock in front, and the staff will get your gear ready on the boat so you never have to lug it around. Stumble out of your room in the morning, grab breakfast (included) , and go on any of the 9 AM, 11 AM, and 2 PM dives with your gear all ready on the boat and expert divemasters and captains ready to make it easy and enjoyable.

Tips for Tranquilseas: bring your own sunscreen and bug spray. They sell eco-friendly versions that we didn't love. But do use their reef-friendly sunscreen when you dive or snorkel. They will provide each guest a reusable water bottle and 5-gallon water bottle chillers in each room so no need to bring water bottles. Bring untorn, clean US currency. Everyone prefers USD (though many places take credit cards too) - but you can't get it from the ATMs (which only dispense Lempira). Tips are appreciated in any currency - but taxis, tours, some smaller West End shops and bars, hair braiders, etc. prefer US cash and will actually charge more for Credit Cards or Lempira.

There's not a ton for kids to do after they've snorkeled, swum in the pool, kayaked and paddle-boarded. My kids liked hanging out and reading, but we wish we had brought a couple of games for them to play to keep them off devices.

I stayed at Tranquilseas in March 2023 (we stayed in the Scarlet Macaw room). I could not have asked for a better place for a vacation.

Our journey to get to Roatan was rather eventful - our flight was delayed, we got stuck in Houston, and I got super sick (thankfully not COVID). When we arrived at Tranquilseas, the first thing Jordan said to me was, "All you need to do now is relax!" Really, that's what I did for an entire week. Our room was so beautiful - we had an amazing view and the room itself was perfect. The food was delicious, and the entire waitstaff was incredibly kind and chatty. I can't personally speak to the diving, but my spouse was thrilled with the dive trips he took. If we needed anything, Jordan and Eli were very accommodating. They even rearranged our stay because of our delay in Houston! Truly, we wanted for very little there.

This was the first true vacation I've taken in a few years, and I am so glad that we stayed at Tranquilseas. The accommodations and location are great, but the best part was really the staff. I can't overstate the kindness of every person who works there. I can't wait to book another trip to stay!

Also! Shout out to Tatiana for a very relaxing massage! Book one with her while you're there, folks!

I choose this hotel for my group of seven ladies for my bachelorette trip. It was so perfect, I couldn’t ask for it to go any better. The staff for the hotel and restaurant were the kindest, sweetest people. They helped us book transportation, day trips, and gave us lots of advice. The hotel is small, beautiful, and beachfront. We loved snorkeling next to the dock. We were able to see lots of sea life, including an eel. The breakfast food included is delicious and we ate a few times at the restaurant for other meals because it was good and convenient. The rooms were beautiful but the outdoor spaces are the most incredible. There’s great views of sunset in the evening and live music on some nights. I would recommend staying here to everyone

Our week at Tranquilseas was absolutely perfect! The staff is amazing and super helpful. The food was great! Our room was beautiful and well designed. There's gorgeous views. The dive shop was easy to work with and there's snorkeling right off the dock. Just a quick 5 min ride to the West End if you want a change of pace. Honestly highly recommend staying here to anyone looking for a quiet, comfortable stay close to the action but not right on top of it.
