So my wife and I stayed at Paya bay for a week. When I first got there I was a little bummed it appeared to be a bit run down. We travel a lot so I wanted to see how it turned out and give the place a chance.
I was not disappointed one bit! The staff at the front desk Evelyn was amazing made us feel so welcome like family!
We went to our room and it was nice not fancy but clean and cozy. Then we flushed the toilet and OMG the smell was bad. I think the venting on the sink was not correct. So I went to the front lobby and asked to move only problem was it was full that night. I was bummed they said we could move in 2 days. Now this is where I would say the staff went above and beyond! We went and had a late lunch and they went to the room and put a candle and 2 air fresheners.
It smelled much better. That said a lot to me. Every meal we had at the resort was absolutely amazing! The Stars Erick and Mick and Anna and Kimberly all did an outstanding job. My wife and I could not have asked for more!
We loved how private and quite the resort was for us it was the perfect place we can't wait to go back..
So if your looking for a resort that goes out of there way to make clients happy go see them in Paya Bay. If your wanting night life and party Paya bay may ot be for you. For us it was heaven!

My wife and I were lucky enough to stay here for a week in December 2022. It was perfect! We couldn't say enough amazing things about the staff, the location, the grounds, etc.

The only thing that might have deterred some folks were the showers being a little dated, but I understand they have since remodeled them, which makes it even better.

If you choose to stay here, don't forget to make time for yoga and massage every day, and bring your trail running shoes so you can run about the grounds in the mornings!

This is one of the best spots in Roatan so far. The place is lovely. I haven’t stayed in one of their rooms yet, but I will definitely do so soon. I visited the beach and stopped to watch the beautiful view while having a couple of birthday celebration cocktails. Omg!! The best healthy cocktails I tasted before the coconut mojito will steal your heart! Coconut cream, Guatemalan rum, and fresh mint blended and served in a big glass that will surely need a refill. The food, especially the fish, looks excellent. I will update the review after I stay here. Also, great prices and friendly, attentive staff.

We stopped here by chance today and had the best day of our Roatan vacation. Place is secluded, quiet and beautiful. Food and drink were excellent. Beach was gorgeous. Next Roatan trip we will stay here.

We loved our first and second stays here (May 2022, Nov 2022) and we're going back again (Aug 2023)!!!! We have 3 non-negotiable items that must be met before I book a resort: easy access to scuba diving, all-inclusive (I hate getting nickel & dimed, just charge me up front and be done with it!), and some option for nude sunbathing. Paya Bay checks all three boxes. I recommend the cliffside bungalows, go to sleep and wake up to the sound of the waves crashing at the base of the cliff beneath your balcony. If you're looking for a big glitzy resort, this isn't the place - its charm is of a different sort. The grounds are very quiet at night, and the hummingbirds and iguanas are everywhere in the morning. My DH describes it as "shabby-chic," and he means that is the very best possible way. This is not Vegas; it's a small boutique resort that doesn't demand four changes of clothes daily and a collared shirt at dinner. It's a relaxed, casual atmosphere around the clock. The guys at Tropical Island Divers were friendly and safety-conscious, a short 10 minute boat ride away from Paya Bay's dock. Each day was breakfast, two dives in the morning, back to the resort for lunch, and an afternoon laying on the beach, baking my buns. The menu isn't extensive, but it's plenty diverse to keep you happy across a week-long stay, and Winnie the cook is fantastic. One night, I order a mint lemonade at dinner and it was a long time coming out, and when Eric set my glass down he said, "Sorry! We were out of mint and I had to run down to the garden!" That's the kind of attention you can expect at Paya Bay!

Probably the best resort in Roatan for your family vacation. We only wanted to spend 2 days there - at the end we extended for a week! The location of Payabay is magical and has among the most beautiful beaches I have seen. Also the staff and management are doing such a great job and make this place the perfect holiday destination. Thank you, definitively coming back soon!

Stopped in for lunch. We were the only people there. It’s in a great spot overlooking the water.I had the chicken fajita and it was excellent. The hubs had fish tacos which he said were also very good. The drinks were okay. Overall it was a good spot off the beaten path.

OMG what a divine experience! The nudist beach is right here (photos and videos are forbidden FYI) food was reaaaally great, the lodgin was pretty comfortable, I had a divine sleep hearing the ocean waves all night (feel free to leave your door open for a more realistic experience) this place is about an hour away from the airport but its trully paradise, you must come visit!! What I loved is the privacy of the whole place which makes it really special, also, the attention provided. Thank you.

Beautiful place, amazing beach, we had an excellent lunch there. The owners were very friendly and walked us around and told us about the history of the resort. The road could use some work so be prepared for a 45 minute rough road in.

My wife and I did a day trip here while on a Carnival cruise to the Western Caribbean. Where do I begin.. Talk about peace and serenity. The beaches where absolutely beautiful! The package included transportation to and from the port, a fruit drink and appetizer when we arrived. Also lunch delivered to us at the beach we were sunbathing at. From stem to stern we were treated like a King and Queen during our entire stay. The views out into the ocean were absolutely breath taking! Some of the pictures I can't post for obvious reasons...lol. Gosh, we hope to visit this resort again in the future! Highly recommend to all those interested Paya Bay Resort!

Not enough words to describe how wonderful this place is. Promptly picked up at the airport even after numerous delays on the past of Delta and United. A welcome drink as I checked in. Very friendly and attentive staff. Room 1 was perfect looking over the water. Many trails to explore the 22 acre facility. Very quiet and secluded on the east side of the island. Yoga facility was breathtaking. Teacher, Marilou, was superb. Food was delicious. Don't see it on the menu, just ask and you'll get it. Bliss Beach is exactly that. Bar next to the beach for drinks and ordering food which is then delivered to you on the beach. They called this the slow season (only 2-3 other couples during my stay) but I just don't get it. This place is a gem and should never be slow. You HAVE to go. I will definitely be going back and staying longer! Thanks Marci, Michelle, Omar, Sharlett, Evelyn DaVinci said the others that made sure I had a great stay.

My wife and stayed at Paya Bay for our 20th anniversary. It was also our first trip to Roatan. The resort picked us up and took us to the hotel. They helped me put together a special picnic at lunch on our anniversary, massages at their yoga studio and a candle light dinner with flowers everywhere. They went above and beyond.

We enjoyed the snorkeling and the staff are awesome. The ones who interact most with guests all speak English. The water is from their well so anyone can drink it. Best vacation ever and we are already talking about going back. Thank you Paya Bay.

If your looking for fancy this might not be your place. If you want a incredibly beautiful, private, peaceful resort then this your place. The staff are all amazing, the food was like home cooked and the beaches amazing. The property is huge. There are trails everywhere to explore, chairs on cliffs, tucked away hidden in the palms on fire island. Every time we explored we found something new. At times we felt like we were the only ones there however everyone we did meet was incredibly friendly.

We will be back.....

This is a hidden gem on the East Side of the Island of Roatan. The grounds are well kept. The view is of the Caribbean Sea is Spectacular. The Resort offers something for everyone. Separate swimming beach for the "Naturalist" [nudist] to swim at for Adults. The Resort offer another beach site for families in addition to pools.
The staff was very courteous, helpful in giving information about all the activities at the Resort. The Resort offers day pass for a nominal fee for those not staying /registered guest there, so that you may enjoy the facility.
There is convenient parking. The Resort room cost was not too pricey. The Resort is a great place to have some peace and quiet, or a romantic getaway from the hustle and bustle of the West Side.
I strongly recommend this Resort for those who really want to experience old style Roatan living. This is a beautiful place.

Everything about the place is excellent. My husband and I visited in February of this year with 4 other couples and had the most wonderful time. My husband and I are going back for our anniversary the first of July and then again with 5 other couples in November. This is our new Paradise.
