The Scuba Shop

Great experience overall. This was my first ever time scuba diving and will definitely not be my last. The gear fit great and looked professional. The team is very helpful and nice, especially Emilio. I was able to see 3 Lion Fish, 2 huge Groupers, a Stingray, Barracudas, and many other beautiful fish and corals. It was also super easy to set up an appointment and get started with the discover scuba program. I am now in the midst of received my open water certification and am heading back out to scuba with The Scuba Shop very soon.

I can’t say enough about our experience with The Scuba Shop. They went out of their way to accommodate our schedule and make our diving in Roatan the best possible experience. For experienced divers: Don’t be fooled into thinking that all the best diving is on the south side of the island. They took us to some amazing sites on the north side. And one of the best parts was that we weren’t tied off with half a dozen “sheep” boats. We had the sites all to ourselves. For new divers: if you’re thinking about taking a course, go with Scuba Shop. They are knowledgeable, thorough, and dedicated. Thanks Emilio, Suly, Tania, and Tio! You’re pretty cool people.

I have never done scuba. My wife and I have snorkeled several times but I finally took the plunge and did a scuba class with Emilio at The Scuba Shop. Went from totally green to swimming with the coral 40 feet below in one afternoon. The experience was mind blowing. Thanks for taking such great care of me! I’m hooked!

I've loved the attention, care and service they devote to their clients.
Emilio, Suly and Amílcar, as well as the rest of the staff have proved they are pros. Their knowledge of the reef is amazing. Equipment is very new and safe. If you are staying nearby they will pick you up at the nearest dock, you don't have to go to pristine. I've enjoyed every minute of dealing with them and would recommend this dice shop 100% (:

The best shop for scuba diving on the island! I did a 10 dive package with them and each dive just got better and better. They take you to the best dive sites and we always had each site to ourselves. I've seen ship wrecks, seahorses, sharks and vast canyons with them. If you're a fan or curious about Bitcoin, they can even take you to Satoshi's Grave :) They also have amazing merch!

This is a great dive operation. Did 22 dives and they went out of there way to work on my schedule . I highly recomend Emilio, Suly and the staff.

We have mixed feelings after diving with the Scuba Shop.

The diving itself was nice (you won't see a lot of big life on the northern side, but the dive sites with all their different structures are still beautiful) and the staff around Suly and Emilio and the others are very nice and helpful.

What is very practical is that you can be picked up at other locations along the coast. For example, we were in Coral View and could be picked up directly there. My girlfriend was still nervous about diving, as we had only done a few dives before and she didn't feel completely confident yet. Suly therefore focused a lot on her during the dive and helped her very well, which was nice.

Nevertheless, as beginners in diving, we only felt comfortable to a limited extent.

At first, communication was very difficult. Our questions were never fully answered via WhatsApp and email. When we then wanted to clarify our questions in person, no one was on site despite prior agreement and we had to wait 45 minutes before driving off again without seeing anyone.

We also found the booking system a bit complicated for the first dive. You have to download an app and use it to book the dates and at the same time book the packages on the website. We had already confirmed an appointment via WhatsApp, but it couldn't take place because someone had booked the slot via the booking system. Unfortunately, that messed up our plans a bit.

Some other things were not very professional from our point of view: Equipment was forgotten to be brought along, dives and dive sites and the general procedure were only minimally explained, they didn't wan't to see any kind of certification or proof, that we actually can dive.
