White Cross / Glavica Hill

Amazing place to watch the sunset in Stari Grad. Wasn't very busy. Nice easy climb up to the top. Short walk from town.

Gorgeous views of Stari Grad from up here! Not too long of a hike up either. We went for sunset (which was gorgeous from this vantage point) and were able to make it back down while it was still twilight. Not terribly crowded either, perhaps 4 other people at the top when I was there on a Wednesday evening.

Easy to reach from city of Stari grad (Old town) and you will have amazing view on the city, beautiful Stari grad Bay and all around including islands around Hvar. I recommend visiting in the morning or even better sunset for going up and there is another marked trail going north from the paved road to Rudine. There are several trails and I recommend one from road to Rudine which is clearly marked as well as main one from the Stari Grad proper. Some of the pictures are from Rudine and some from Stari grad when returning from Glavica Hill with main marked path.

Fabulous views, great wildlife, worth the short uphill climb.

Beautiful place to get an amazing view of Stari Grad. It’s a bit of a hike, so I wouldn’t advise going up in sandals! I can imagine it would be a lovely place to have a picnic. Free, no tickets required.

Beautiful view. Quick hike. Go at sunrise, it’s incredible.

10 minute hike to the top depending on where you park. No roads or bike pasty’s to the top. I managed in flip flops but shoes would have been better! There’s a 360 view at the top, I’m sure it would be amazing at sunset, just take a torch. There’s a cross and alter, and a little church which door was closed but not locked.

Great view from top of the hill. There is a blue sign board at the side of the road, do follow the sign as that is the shortest way to get to the top. Or you can follow the green arrow on the rocks which point towards the white cross as well.

May 2019. Steep climb up rocky paths to amazing 360 views. Most direct is up via kralja tomislava. Very prominent solid blue sign.Ascend initially via concrete road which then turns into rocky winding path. The locals use a more gentle but much longer route from rear again find blue sign on roadside and go up a rock pathway which has been built with huge effort. Not recommended to go up at night because of conditions underfoot. Take water.

Perfect view over the island, with Stari Grad and in direction of Jelsa. Be there esrly in the morning! 🤩

Google sent us on the wrong path and we ended up in the middle of nowhere. There is though a clear path which we only found on our way down.
