Villa Ariston

Really beautiful place. I wanted to enjoy the beach, ride my mountain bike and stay in a calm stylish place. Villa Ariston fulfilled. I even extended by 2 more nights.

We had a wonderful wedding here. Everyone was so accommodating during our time there and really put in the extra effort to make our special day even more special.

Staying in the Presidential suite was fantastic. Absolutely gorgeous: we loved the architecture, we loved the views from our balcony, and we loved spending time in the terrace as well as walking down to the seaside promanade.

The food is outstanding. Extremely fresh fish and shell fish. The waiters are very knowledgeable of food and how they should be prepared and how much are provided. Pleasant complimentary wine was provided after the meal. No problem with English speakers. Do expect to pay $$$$ for the meals.

We enjoyed a fabolous dinner at Villa Ariston tonight. The food is truely outstanding and I would like to hightlight the warm hospitaly of Cyntia (the manager) and her team. We can‘t wait to become regular guests as this place is a true gem! Mario Previsic

Amazing! Stayed here business wise for a week. Rustic hotel with most amazing view, but restaurant is just ot from this world. Cyntie was very helpfull with everything and we will be back fir sure. Thank you all!

The location is a bit away from the centre of Opatija. And the walk on the waterfront walkway is perfect. We found this restaurant as we were walking around and were admiring the gardens. I suggest to reserve in advance during the high season, as we were lucky to get the last available table (in the garden).

This is not a normal "croatian" grill or homefood restaurant. It also doesn't want to be. Yes, price is much higher, but also the quality of food and presentation are much higher than in normal restaurants (its fine dinning, but still somewhat more relaxed).

You have an option from selecting different dishes or a tasting menu (better value, but you don't know exactly what you get - though the waiter really listens, especially if you have any special demands or wishes. Plenty of people around us ate scampi...

We opted for tasting menu (5 courses). Beside the 5 courses you get an additional starter (welcome from the kitchen). All dishes were great, my favourite was baked scampi on polenta with zucchini and almonds pesto (menu changes often!). All the dishes had a local influence and that was great. Wine selection was good, we decided for a bottle of Malvazija after suggestion of the waiter.

Service was very good. Waiter was friendly, helpful and very attentive. It took a bit of time to get the first dish, but i guess that was also due to the fact that the restaurant was full...

Portions per se are not big, but 5 courses are enough for a person to get fed. Price is very high, but as said before, you pay here for a quality food and service (it was around 150 EUR for two). We actually returned a few months later with guests. In my opinion one of the best restaurants in this part of Croatia.

Oh, and if you are already there... check the gardens and inside of the villa... very nice :-)

Very nice Hotel @ the beautiful seaside of Opatija!
Restaurant is one of the best in Town. Prices are slightly over the local level but the stunning view from the outside terrace is woth it!
Rooms are old fashioned but good.
