Sixt Rent a Car - Split

I've been renting from this Sixt office regularly for the last 3 years, and I must say they have always been wonderful to work with! The staff is incredibly nice and accommodating. They know me by name. Plus, their working hours are convenient, and I appreciate the after-hours drop-off option.

My only negative experience is that they don't accept Diners Club Card/Discover due to an issue with their Erste POS system. It would be great if they could resolve this, as it's sometimes inconvenient for those who prefer using these cards.

Nonetheless, I highly recommend Sixt for their excellent service, kind staff, and convenient rental options.

I was worried reading the reviews prior, but now don't think they are founded.

Extra insurance is ok, especially if you want a hassle free hire, no excess, no issues debating scratches. So we opted for it. Generally we don't do this but being our first time driving in Croatia it was piece of mind.

Fuel option (fixed price) is a great idea and I think worthwhile if you know you are returning the car with less than a quarter of tank of fuel. We opted out of this and filled out tank independently.

Car was a almost new Skoda, very clean and roomy.

Staff and service was good.

I would like to say our experience was BEYOND five stars, — Mia has helped us so very much from start to finish, and was incredibly supportive with all of our questions and requests. Our experience was very smooth. After having had bad experience with another car rental company in Split, SIXT and especially Mia and her customer service was like a breath of fresh air.

Could not have been better. Did a one way rental from Split to Zagreb but I screwed up the reservation. They were very nice about fixing the reservation and they didn’t even raise the rate. The after hours drop off at Zagreb Airport is a little different than I expected, just park the car in the return lot and put the key through the slot in the door INSIDE THE AIRPORT

Efficient operation. Competent lady who served us - knew what she was doing, and fast. When she learned about our intended itinerary, she provided quick lists of places to visit, eat, etc. Went above & beyond. The only problem was that the rental car lot itself across the alley from the office is on loose gravel, which made wheeled luggage very difficult and, in fact, damaged one of the wheels on our suitcase. Be sure to take photos of any existing damages, including the under-carriages (underside of the bunoers), since the attendant mentioned that some customers returned with damaged undercarriage (some roads on the islands can be potholes-ridden dirt roads, or loose gravel that fly up to chip the paint).

We rent here a car for 7 days. The company take a deposit 1400 EUR from your credit card and it will be returned, if everything will be fine. The stuff will explain all details in the contract. Be careful about your insurance for the car. Participation was 925 EUR. The office is located in the building near the parking place. I can recommend this company.

Although I haven’t return it yet, I have to say that I had, by far, the best customer service I’ve ever had renting a car at the Sixt branch office located in the town of Split.

I forgot their names, but both women I dealt with today we’re absolutely wonderful. So helpful, honest, present, and officiant. Just fabulous.

We are satisfied with the vehicle rental service provided by the young gentleman with curly hair, he explained everything to us in detail. Praise!!

Best rent car experience I’ve ever had! They gave us a free upgrade, the staff recommended multiple things for us to do, explained about the insurance very clear. Return was very easy and fast as well! Highly recommend.

She was able to navigate and highlight my booking would not have the necessary boot space, able to find me a car that fits my needs of 5 luggages. Walked me right up to the car and advised me as well on the type of insurance I should consider based on my travel itinerary, so won't over or under spend.

Very helpful and understanding. They gave us free car seats and no crossing borders fee. They were kind and spoke good English and no hidden costs. We bought full insurance and so then there isn’t a massive deposit. We took the car to dubrovnik and no extra fee. Just very easy and would definitely recommend !!!!!!
