Gorgeous lunch with gentle and nice owners. Octopus salad is stunning. Chef gave us a fresh lemon which is proper to make a cup of tea.

Lovely friendly locals. Beautiful food on the coals. Nothing fancy just great ingredients done well in a beautiful setting. Would highly recommend. Squid on the coals was our choice

A beautiful space run by a welcoming couple with excellent food! On of those places you stumble upon on vacation and remember forever! Oh, and we had the sweetest young waitress.

Overall, this restaurant was amazing. It had a great exterior, outside surrounded with nature in the shade which was very pleasent. Good food, excellent fish shoup and fish dishes. Waiters were a little forgetful but very kind. Prices are fair. Dessert was good. If you are looking for a restaurant near the center of Vis in a hurry, then do not miss out on this one!

Like in a movie, Maria, a professional chef prepares delicious Croatian dishes in a stylish, romantic garden with open grill, served by her congenial outdoor cook. We came on short notice with 9 people and had the best dinner of our sail trip. Lamb, fish, risotto, cuttlefish, you name it, with nice white house wine.

Great restaurant. Family-owned and -managed with a traditional approach to cooking. 100% recommended if you wanna try out some traditional Croatian recipes. We had the stuffed peppers, the octopus salad and marinated sardines - everything was fresh and tasty.
The location is equally pleasing, the garden is very peaceful and the tables are quite apart from one another.

Stunning restaurant on the back streets, every table has a tree growing through it, festooned in lights so you feel you are in a secret garden. Lovely authentic food, fab portion sizes. And our waitress was so friendly. We will be back ❤

Place to go on Vis island. Off the main avenue but still literally a few steps from the port. We had a beef risotto and stuffed peppers. Both were amazing as well as their house wine. Pay a visit and sit under the lemon tree and enjoy those delicious dishes. Tip: Ask the owners about the history of the garden. It is really interesting!

Homecooking Dalmatian Style

We ate twice at Villa Rustika during our stay on Vis island and enjoyed it both times! The place is located nearby the ferry dock in a street parallel to the main street. The restaurant has a beautiful terrace where old trees provide shade and respite from scorching summer Sun! The place is familly owned and the owners are very heartwarm and welcoming. The food here is the closest it gets to true home cooking, Dalmatian style! We felt the whole time like we were visiting relatives :-) We had fish which the owner caught the night before and had it served for luch next day! And all that for not much money, especially compared to other places in and on Vis, this place is a bargain! Really enjoyed our time here and looking forward to come back!

Such a pretty place! We felt super welcome, prices are very fair. We were lucky enough to try the deer goulash with gnocchis that day (they don’t always have it) and it was delicious - like grandmother-style cooking. Yum! Looking forward to coming again :)

This place is superb. Home style and authentic. Excellent traditional Dalmatian cuisine. No menu, just whatever is fresh from the market or sea that day. Huge portions, very affordable.

We loved the restaurant!
It was a stormy night but no problem to sit outside. The pasta was good, prices as well. The waitress was very nice. The best thing about this restaurant is the setting, the tables and trees.

It is quite hidden but the place is beautiful, the service super friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. You can see into the kitchen and the huge open grill. From time to time the chefs come out to grab some fresh herbs from the garden. When in Vis- stop by here. It is a hidden gem

Great rustic restaurant, just a few steps away from the bustling harbour scene. Very good price value and fresh local dishes. One of the great new discoveries on our trip this year.

Villa Rustica is located in a very unobvious place and we got it recommended by a friend. It is a very cosy restaurant with kind staff. Our stay there felt like a family diner - we were looked after really well. The gnocci with beef were superb. The cuttlefish risotto was also top notch. I'd definitely go there again in the evening as it is really atmoshperic with the light etc.
