The National Park with the central lakes is totally intact and unspoiled. The solar powered boat trip to the little island with the Benedictine monastery and church of St Mary is a real surprise - just to take the time to explore the church, some of ruins and the fabulous views. The boat trip continues to the small lake where the swimming and walking is great.

Beautiful place, can be reached via a day trip from Dubrovnik, but will be slightly rushed.
Two lakes within the island, one big one small. Small one is more silty but equally as beautiful, swam across it.
Can rent a bike to cycle the trails, then swim across to Sveta Marija, an island in the large lake.

This is a fantastic place to visit. Spend a few days here, where you can walk, cycle, kayak or even use the regular boat service to get around this amazing place. There's an island to visit, on a saltwater lake, on the island, in the Adriatic. So cool. The water is beautiful for swimming in, but make sure you have footwear to swim - it's quite rocky (no beaches).

Beautiful park. We hired a bike to get round otherwise you won't get to see it all in a couple of hours, which is what we had. Once in the park, the path is flat and easy. There is a large uphill either way to get in/out of the park.

Amazing National Park to go hiking, bike riding or swimming. If you’re in for a hike, I would recommend the longest hike which is around 13.5 Km and goes to a very nice viewpoint. It is very easy to find the way as the direction signs are very clear. The entrance of the National Park is quite high (€25 per person). Students get a discount.

Easily the most incredible experience Croatia and a MUST for any itinerary. Highly recommend E Bike rental as it is such an amazing way to see all the vista's from mountains to lake shore. Be sure to cycle Track F, it is awesome combination if decent mountain biking and easy ride around the lake. Be sure to swim at the small bridge right at the end if the lake where the ocean flows in.

This park is beautiful. The ticket is actually valid for seven days, and you can ride the transport and boat with it. We visited it with our 4-year and 1-year-old children. We took the stroller and managed to have a nice visit to most of the locations.

One of if not the most wonderful places have ever visited. So much gorgeous land and sights to see. Along with friendly English speaking staff and a lovely souvenir shop. I really enjoyed the island of St Mary and had the best swim of my life. And I love a wild swim. Highly recommend and hope to return again soon !!

This island was amazing. The lakes were refreshing to swim in, the monastery was beautiful, and the boats did not take very long. I wish we had had more time because I would have liked to bike around the lake or paddleboard, so definitely give yourself time to do everything if you can!

Oh wow!!! What a beautiful national park this is! You have to stay for days instead of just making a day-trip here to enjoy its full beauty and tranquility. The nearby St Mary's Island is a must-visit. we stayed for 2 nights at Hotel Odisej at Pomena, and enjoyed our time exploring the island in our rented car. All in all, we can highly recommend this well organised national park to visitors to Croatia!

Great place to visit. Worth the online booking charge of €22.50 per adult per day. Shortest access from the sea is Pomena rather than Polace. Park opens at 07.30 (As at end Sept 2023). No overnight camping. Boat trips to the island in the middle of the lake start at c. 09.00. Quietest time to visit is before 09.00. Great for swimming in the salt water off the designated beach on the west side of the large lake or on the island. Restaurant on island, worth booking in advance. Looks like the UK Lake District. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful! Little on the expensive side (€25pp) but the roads etc are well maintained. We took ebikes to the lakes and had wee dip. Beautiful :)

Go!
Don't let anything stop you or get in the way, this place is spectacular! I highly suggest renting a bike and riding around the lakes being sure to stop in secluded places for a swim!

Unbelievable... such a beautiful place. Hire a bike, go for a swim, have beer at the local restaurant. Amazing 👏

The place is amazing, even though a little expensive for the few services offered on the island (not even a bus connecting the main villages).
Still, it's sad to see the amount of trash on the side of the roads and underwater left by irrespectful tourists. Especially in front of Polace where big yacths anchor and the sea bottom is full of plastic and glass bottles.

Bring good walking shoes /boots, and a good level of fitness, and you will be rewarded with beautiful scenery, smells and sights in an unspoilt environment with hardly any cars. It's hard to get here so it's not crowded, but enough people to say "hello" to and not feel isolated. A certain walk I went up, hill/low mountain, I met no one, another day, and we went on the boat trip to St. Mary's island and there must have been 50 people. So it all depends.
The bicycle hire in the park didn't start until 10am. Take your own water, but there is a shop and toilets, and if you're lucky a land train (electric), which maybe able to give you a ride.

Love love love this place if you have a bucket list, then make this place one of them so beautiful, pristine and so cleverly laid out, tracks every where, whether you are walking or biking there is something for all levels, you can swim in the warm waters of the small and large lakes, but if you can walk around both of them, at the end of the large lake where the lake meets the sea is a coral reef which is teeming with flora and fauna the waters are clear here, a very interesting place, take your mask n snorkel you won't be disappointed

Mljet National Park occupies almost a third of the island of Mljet, covering almost 5,300 hectares, so impossible to see everything in a day.

The easiest way to get there is by ferry to Pomena. Tickets can be bought at ticket offices in Pomena or the Information center at the Great Lake. You can hire bikes or e-bikes or you can just walk the trails, like us. Do forget to bring your swimwear as the cool refreshing waters of Malo Jezero and Veliko Jezero (Small Lake and Great Lake) are too perfect to ignore.

Your tickets include a free ride on the ferry on Veliko Jerzo out to the island of St Mary’s and the Benedictine monastery.

The park is so peaceful and the views of the turquoise lakes is amazing. We loved our time there.

Mljet is a paradise island. The recommendation for touring the island is: to come by ferry, rent a scooter with which you can get to every corner of the island. You can also own or rent a bike. The island is full of beautiful bays, beaches, places, sacred buildings ... and much more beautiful. Highly recommended for everyone, specily for family and larger group.

Mljet national park is gorgeous! Here you will see wonderful colors on the lakes and you can swim there! :))
If you love swimming this should add this np to your wish list, and the same with hiking lovers.
🥾⛰🌅🏝
By the way, this is an amazing spot to enjoy the sunset's.
Info: You can enjoy this experience walking, biking or driving (there are so many places in with you can rent something for transportation).
This is a very big place so if you want to walk or go slowly I recommend you to take two days for enjoy in this national park.
