Agroturizam Tikel, Špinovci

If you are looking for a different kind of experience and the real taste of Istria this rural tourism activity is the real thing for you, and it offers a beautiful view on the surrounding hills and Motovun. Here you can experience the real taste of Istria with homemade bread and an appetizer of Istrian ham and cheese (there is no choice - there is only 1 type of appetizer), various types of regional types of pasta (fuži, pljukanci, gnocchi, ...) with typical sauces (game meat, chicken, truffle, …). The pasta (any kind of it) with the truffle-cream sauce is a dream come true. The main dish is only one and is ombolo (pork cutlet) and potatoes, sometimes they also add sausages and that day they had only green salad. The dessert is the cake or a mix of the cakes baked that day (simple cakes - do not expect any elaborated cakes with cream but let’s call it “poor” cakes that the grandmothers baked using only a few ingredients). Even the wine had the “rural” taste, as not bottled and not refined. It is nothing for people who expect a real restaurant, a highway (the road is narrow and runs through a not illuminated forest), luxurious table cloths/tableware, various types of bread (the bread that was brought to us was still cold and absolutely homemade, maybe they used also some antique flours as it had an excellent and different taste than the ones bought in a supermarket or that you get in usual restaurants). Do not expect to have a various choice of dishes to choose from. It is a rural activity with exquisite homemade/regional and simple dishes for a typical experience. If interesting, they also sell homemade pickles, jam and their bottled wine in the house in front of it.

Tikel was recommended to us when we rented mountain bikes in Motovun an planned our little tour.
Once you found this beautiful spot you can enjoy mostly home-made specialties and a stunning view.
The owners are super friendly and we enjoyed an extended break with a big bowl of truffled pasta! 😃

Agroturizam Tikel served the best traditional Croatian food that we had anywhere, and it was very affordable. The spinach gnocchi with wild boar was incredible, the meat was so tender it just melted with such flavour. Everything is made just like Nana made it 100 years ago. If you truly love good food and do not care about upscale decor, this is the place for you. Great food and a beautiful view of Motovum, it doesn't get any better than Agroturizam Tikel.

After a long and winding road you reach this peaceful place, located on a hill with a fantastic panorama! We had a great antipasti plate, gnocchi with truffels and pork with zucchini and truffels and all was excellent, the truffels cheese is incredible fine, also the olive oil and the Malvasia! The homemade lemonades and juices are highlights, too, and due to the 0-km-principe you will not really miss beer or cola & friends...

This place is absolutely a gem. And the people are simply lovely. We got a real local vibe as we were there while there was a baptist party going on by a local family. The place is a family run farm with restaurant. All used ingredients are self produced. The view on Motovun from the terrace is simply stunning. Please don’t miss out if you are in the neighborhood! It is a bit of a detour but absolutely worth it!
And the food is just great!

One of the most incredible konobas in all of Istria. Delicious food, fabulous homemade wine, and perhaps the best view of Montovun in all of Croatia.

I would give this place 6 stars, if I could. I have o idea where to start, I have so many good things to say. The view from the outside patio of Montovun is just beautiful and perfect. The staff treated us with so much attention and care, like a personalized service. The food was all homemade and organic. The truffle pasta was unbelievably delicious and the wild boar (I think that was the meat dish). The salad had the best tasting tomatoes I've even had. The white wine is even organic and it was smooth. The drive to the restaurant was so secluded but I think that adds an extra touch to the place. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Porec.

Great food ,nice view, domestic atmosphere

Visited this restaurant few times over the last 12 years and it is always high on my list with its quality, simplicity and relaxed approach. They have some really good wines to taste also. The view on Motovun from the restaurant terrace is simply priceless.

Second time here, mr. Ivica was a great host, the food was excellent. We were treated with a complementary aperitiv and desert as well. A bit of a interesting road to the plase but worth the trip. Great view of Motovun

Really nice place with breathtaking view, kind and helpful service and magnificent local food... The portions are bountiful, all the dishes were simple yet very fresh and tasty. They use only their own products like quality wines, truffles and olive oil. Actually all the ingredients were from their garden, the bread is always homemade like the various types of pasta... Real food lovers and gurmans will not be disappointed... The atmosphere is cheerful, friendly and cosy. Special greetings to chef Ivan and Mladen, our always smiling waiter...

The location is spectacular ( basicaly it is the end of the road, so trafic, no noise) and it is good for the kids to play around the property. The view points towards the city of Motovun and Brkac. The food is typical Istrian cusine, the prices are afordable, and the food taste as you expect. Definetly a to come back to. Hidden gem of central Istria.
