Heritage Museum of Ogulin

Ogulin Heritage Museum is placed in a castle in the centre of Ogulin. It hosts a small antique lapidarium and other collections of importance for Ogulin and it's region. The richest exhibition is "The Alpine Collection" on the second floor - it honors the founding of Croatian Mountaineering Association (as it took place in Ogulin) and the most important Croatian achievements in alpinism. A stone brought from Mt Everest can be seen here!
Another highlight is the digital interactive Cross in The Homeland War Collection, explore it yourself.
Nice feature is a practical audio-guide on a tablet which describes each collection in a short and informative manner.

An excellent museum in centre of town. There you can find the cell were Tito was imprisoned, a life and work of famous Croatian writer Ivana Brlic Mazuranic, Ogulin through Croatian homeland war, old customs of Ogulin and how people used to live there back in the old days. Also a memorial cross of killed locals during the war. Everything there is to know about the birthplace of Croatian alpinism and mounteneering you’ll find inside this museum.

Came here with grandma once. It was very early so it was just the two of us. But they still gave us a tour! Absolute respect <3

You can truly learn and see a lot about the history of this region here. Definitely worth the visit.

Really lovely

Uživali smo iako je u muzeju bilo hladno.

Muzej otvoren 1967. godine nalazi se u starim prostorima frankopanskog kaštela iz XV. stoljeća. Mogu se vidjeti zbirke domovinskog rata, zbirka Ivane Brlić Mažuranić, etnografska zbirka, arheološka, povijesna i alpinistička. Ulaz u muzej se plaća oko 15 kuna.

Lijepi primjer kako se treba odnositi prema starini,samo je nedostatak sto ne radi nedjeljom

Lijepo, informativno i što je najbitnije, jeftino.
Ne postoji razlog da se u prolazu ne stane i ne pogleda.
