Unique place for the animals lovers or for the ones who have children:))
First time we was there without an appointment, we couldn’t stay. It was fully booked for 3 days
But, the second time we did a reservation with about one week before

Kids loved the cats, the turtles, the bunny, the chameleon, but also the little piton 🐍.

For me, what I loved the most was the way it was scheduled time that we where there.

First we ordered the drinks, then we received one animal for 10 minutes, than it was replaced with another animal… like this till the end. In the last 15 minutes you can take a tour in the cafe and see the rest of the animals

Nice experience for Budapest !

In one word this place was AMAZING!!

The staff generally take very good care of the animals. We had the opportunity to see different animals, while 5 types of animals were with us at the table during our hour and half reservation. About every 10 minutes we got a different animal. In the last 15 minutes you have the opportunity to view the entire cafe. I recommend making a reservation in advance, there is a lot of interest in this place, which I completely understand after my experience. The only thing I would change is the reservation system. Nowadays, it could be a little more modern - faster and more practical.

A MUST visit place during your stay in Budapest! The experience is one of a kind and the animals are amazing. The staff is very kind and explains how to handle the animals gently. However, I don’t recommend eating there just because the food is not worth it. Our drinks were good. Overall 10/10 experience!

First things first, reservation is absolutely needed if you want to visit Zoo Cafe. The place is well worth the visit, so plan it in advance. You probably need to make a reservation a week earlier, or even sooner for weekends.

Our 1.5 hour long stay went by quickly. Various animals are brought to your table, and stay with you for 5-10 minutes. There's guinea pigs, chameleons, rabbits, exotic birds and more.

The staff is friendly and explains how should you pet the animals. Make sure to follow their instructions.

They have multiples of the same kind of animal and cycle them through the day, so they are able to relax in between visits.

The drinks are on the pricier side, but that's to be expected as there's no entry fee. You only need to pay around 3-4€ if you don't order anything.

All in all, if you like animals, you're going to enjoy visiting this place.

One of a kind place for an up close experience with animals 💗 The animals and birds look healthy and well groomed and the setting is nice.
The animals are individually presented by their names, species, and age (if you show interest). Yes they might pee or poop on the table (like the tortoise did on mine), because they are alive 😉 simply call one of the staff members and they will clean the table. There are sanitizers on every table, for convenience.
Reserving a table in advance is a must. The place operates in 1.5h series service, with simple house rules. The staff is always moving, but nice and helpful (respect to be respected).

Lovely place with a great atmosphere for animal lovers! Please be sure to not wear any jewelry or strong perfume, and especially reserve days in advance!

Nice little cafe with a special twist. We enjoyed our time there. Don't listen to the "bleeding heart animal activists", the staff took very good care of the animals and was more than helpful giving out clear handling instructions in perfect English. We didn't see any of them acting in distress and although we asked about the snake speciffically we were told that they wouldn't put it on rotation as it had just eaten the day prior. Fair enough.

ABSOLUTELY DO MAKE A RESERVATION IF YOU WANT TO VISIT. They are in high demand and you will not be seated as a walk in.

The place is beautiful, clean and organised. The animals are well treated and presented to each table. Only the price is a little high for a coffee, and everyone at the table must eat, otherwise they pay an extra charge. I recommend it, and it's important to book before you go (to avoid queues).

You need to make reservation at least week before. The whole caffee is amazing. You spend hour with the animals on your table that are changing every 10 minutes and then you have 20 minutes to look around the caffee. The animals seem to be well taken care of. Its must visit if you are in Budapest. The staff is really nice and welcoming. The only minus is that we only ordered at the begining and then there wasnt any chance because noone came to us. Everything is clean even tho there are lots of animals. I deffinetly reccoment it and we’ll be back next time we visit Budapest!

What an amazing experience! You have to come here if you are visiting Budapest, but have in mind to make a reservation within one week in advance!!! The food is & looks low cost, but that's not the reason I chose this restaurant, for me, this aspect was not that important. Yes, the food & drinks are also overpriced, but I think it is normal for them to have such prices, for mentenance & for taking care of animals. At this cafè, you pay for the experience you have, not necessarily for the food. That's how I see it. The animals are very well treated, with a lot of love by the employees, there are a bunch of rules that you must read&respect. I didn't saw only "a business for money" in there, the employees love the animals & vice versa. That's what I've felt. Anyways... we had a great time & for sure we will come back with the kids (in the future) 😁

What an amazing find. Booking is definitely recommend.
We had two toasted sandwiches, a milkshake and a coffee.
There's no booking fee to get in but you must purchase something off the menu.
Animals were brought to our table, some we could touch and some we could hold (mainly the reptiles).
We had a bearded dragon, a turtle, a chameleon, a rabbit and a guinea pig.
At the end we had time to have a wander around to look at the other animals.
It's such a lovely place and a lovely experience. The staff are so knowledgeable about the animals and clearly love them and take good care of them.
Thank you so much to the patient staff who work there and made out visit memorable.

Book in time! 3rd time going here. So much fun. Very well organised. Animals get rotated and I think the next groups gets a different animal so the animals aren't disturbed all day just 1 or 2 hours a day or at least I hope so. They got drinks and some cakes. But look out for the bird, he will steal your food lol

Awesome experience. There will be 6 animals on your table over the course of 1.5hr. Cats run all over the place which is funny. Staff takes care of the animals well. You have to book a table in advance via email. Recommended.

The place is really interesting to visit. They have several types of animals such as lizards, snakes, rabbits, guinea pigs... cats walk freely around the cafe and come to your lap to cuddle.

Reservations are required a few days in advance and we did it via e-mail. You can spend an hour and a half in the cafe, and every 10-15 minutes they change the animals at the table. They explain what can you do with each animal and what you can't. You also can reject an animal (we rejected a snake) and then you are waiting 10 minutes for the next one.

Chameleon Johnny was the most interesting animal ever.

We had a great time and would come again.

It is a really interesting place, controversal, but the ideea is nice. Animals are chill, so it’s fine. Lucky there are less tables so it’s not crowded in there. Staff in really nice; coffee very good. The most important thing: you must have reservation!! Can’t go there without it
