For Sale Pub

A truly unique pub that I'm glad I had the chance to visit. We had to wait for a table, but since we arrived relatively early, it only took about 10 minutes before one became available. We ended up sitting quite snugly near the end of the bar, but it was absolutely fine. The atmosphere is indescribable. Every surface along the walls and ceiling is covered in notes, and there are papers and pens at every table so you can leave your own message. Free peanuts are available, and you toss the shells on the ground (which is also covered in straw). It's lively and cozy. We had an incredibly friendly waiter who joked with us and was very pleasant. We opted for the goulash soup for two, and it was delicious. We chose to have chili with it and also ordered bread. Their pale ale on tap was fantastic, a really tasty beer. You can press a button by the table to call for service, which was very convenient. While we were there, the line outside kept growing longer and longer, so expect to wait a while before getting a table. It's the most unique restaurant I've been to, and I would absolutely go back.

The For Sale Pub was one of the most interesting places we visited in Budapest.
The concept of the decoration in this restaurant - pub was really fun and original and the music was suitable for the place. There was some waiting line (we got there at 4:30 p.m.), but we didn't have to wait for that long. We ordered a “Goulash soup”, some bread and fried potatoes, and I can say it was the best Goulash we have tried so far! We could eat as many peanuts as we wanted, and we got to write and hang our messages on the walls and the wooden stairs. The service was friendly and kind, and the experience overall was quite extraordinary.
Would for sure recommend a visit there, and I would definitely come back!

It was a surprise for us. Very different from any other place but in a good way. If you want to sit you need to order food, otherwise you need to stay up. Place inside is like a horse stable with hay all over the floor and same vibe. Nice music, decoration according to place.
Be aware that food amount is huge, humongous amount of food so do not order too much or you will regret. At least, you can take food home if you can’t eat it all. Unlimited access to peanuts and shells needs to go to floor. Food was tasty. Prices a bit high as well but worth it.
I would say it is not accessible for wheelchair.

Came here on a Friday night and it was very busy, ordered a drink and had our name on a list for a table for food.

To be honest I wasn't too sure about this place at first, not a lot of room and crammed but I am glad we stayed for food, the food was absolutely amazing and the portion sizes are huge! You can easily share 1 meal between 2.

Staff were lovely and attentive and you can leave a note of your own on the walls, highly recommend

Excellent experience in beautiful Budapest!! We got the cabbage rolls and goose liver sirloin stew. Beus our server was excellent. Great live band and interesting ambience. Come early or prepare to wait a bit. So worth it!

Location, atmosphere, food, and beer were all the best!

Especially thanks to Niki, who kept smiling and receiving orders and providing the best service, I was able to have a better time! She was a really kind waitress, and thanks to her, the evening of the first day of the trip to Budapest was fantastic. Thank you🫶 I highly recommend cherry beer!!!

Best gulash in town. Portions are huge (1 liter) and it can easily satisfy 2 people. Unique and decoration. There are unlimited peanuts on the table and you are advised to throw the shells on the floor.
Very nice ambiance and service. I came here for lunch during the week and I was able to find a table.

A very fun and different concept.

The waiters are happy and friendly people, it is a place you have to visit if you go to Budapest, even if it is just for a drink.

You have free peanuts on the tables to have with your drink/meal.

If you want to get food definitely book a table! There was a queue even at 2pm on a weekday. And I can see why! It is such a good vibe and the food looked amazing.

After a long wait we were able to go inside and sit on a table upstairs.

This was one of the most surprising places I’ve seen this time in Budapest. It’s actually a restaurant pub with an unique charm.
The concept is very fun and different, it offers unlimited raw peanuts on every table in a huge bucket and you can throw the peels on the straw-covered floor.
But bare in mind, do not snack too much, because the food portions are huge!
The service was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious.

I tried the “Goulash soup” and it was a culinary masterpiece! The flavors were rich and authentic, making it obvious why this dish is a Hungarian classic. I must say this place had the best goulash I’ve tried so far!
Highly recommend it and I would definitely come back!

Very unique experience! Despite there was a long queue at the door, we never regretted to wait.The portions are super big and taste is great! Peanuts and papers are everywhere. You can have a piece of paper and become a part of the place.Must see in Budapest!
The prices are bit higher but it is worth it.

The pub is really nice! Nice mood with all the notes that people write the notes and stick them on the walls! The food was really good! We took a Hungarian goulash and a chicken paprika. And the waitress Niki was really nice! :)

We waited for at least an hour in line to get in but we didn’t regret it. It captures the vibe of a Hungarian pub (with a fun twist), and the food is super delicious. Prices are a little high, but quantity and quality make it worth it. Plus they serve you unlimited peanuts along with your beer, and you are encouraged to throw your husks on the floor. How cool is that!

My visit to For Sale Pub in Budapest was an absolute delight! From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere embraced us with its unique charm. Very nice place. You can see many histories in paper on the wall from different person. This place worth it 100%. If you came to Budapest this is must. All the waitress are amazingly especially Linda , sweet with good vibes.

This is the first time I don't wanna write the review as this place is AMAZING and I worry next time we go back it will be too popular too get in!

They have a really big menu and it took us some time to decide what we want.
We order 3 dishes which were Grilled pork in Gipsy style, Garlic mushroom pasta and Grill vegetables.

The place offer free unlimited peanuts on each tables, you can have some while waiting for your meal, but bare in mind, do not snack too much, because the portion for the foods are unbelievable big (in good way)!

They have service ring on the table, so don't rush, take your time to explore the menu and just press the ring when you are ready to order ✨

- Grilled pork in Gipsy style with salad
I think this is number 53 or 56 if you wanna find it quickly on menu.
The pork was giant, came with many potatoes, smoked pork fat, and a bit of salad.
Pork was tasty and tender, and the flavor from pork fat was heaven when you have a bit from it and have a bit with the pork itself.
It also came with a bowl (big bowl!) of the pickled vegetables to eased the heavy flavor from the dish.

- Garlic mushrooms pasta
Again, giant portion! Very creamy and tasty, but it's a bit too simple.

- Grilled vegetables
And again, giant portion! We thought this just a normal side dish, but it came same size as the main dish! This place is really generous with their foods!
In the plate we got grilled bell peppers, potatoes, carrot, broccoli, red onion, and some other vegetables that I can't recall.
It was so delicious, and full of grilled flavor, very juicy vegetables.
I think it's the best grilled vegetables I've ever had in my life so far.

Can't finish foods? Don't worry, you can simple ask them to have take out box. We couldn't finish the foods and we took it back to our Airbnb for dinner. It still taste amaaaaaaazing even just reheat with microwave.

My girlfriend had seen many videos of For Sale Pub on tiktok recently and decided we had to try for ourselves on our trip to Budapest. Walking in we were welcomed in to such a cool place with notes from travelers all around the world surrounding us. We ordered the Goulash and it was our favorite meal of our trip so far! Our server, Beus, was so kind and helpful and gave us our own paper to leave our mark at For Sale Pub. I highly recommend anyone visiting Budapest to make time to come try it out for yourself!

Niki was INCREDIBLE! We have had a great time and Niki and her colleagues made our experience so much better! Niki was so friendly and so so lovely! If you plan to visit Budapest.. you MUST come here to meet Niki and enjoy the brilliant atmosphere, great drinks and lovely food! We spent the whole night here and would definitely come back! Niki had fun with us and even helped us with our Hungarian! The band were great!

A great place to eat goulash and leave your message by writing small letters. I fined fresh homemade lemoned, tasty food and very hospital waitress. I advice to try “pepperon chicken pasta” also, that was amazing! The portion of goulash is too big even for 2 person. Go and enjoy 😉 👇🏼 must see foto

This place is so unique !! Delightfully fun with customers writing notes and pinning them to the walls !!! Quite small so booking may be required at busy times but we got there before the lunchtime rush ! The goulash soup for 2 is amazing!! Would definitely recommend

We arrived around dinner time on a Wednesday. It was already packed by then. We had no reservation so had to wait for a table but not much. The food was tasty and the service was good. The employees are very friendly and the live music and environment of the place makes it a very chill pub to hang out in Budapest. Definitely a place that you can't miss here!
