Anantara New York Palace Budapest Hotel

Everything was exceptional, from service to room. Beautiful hotel and professional front desk to valet. I felt that the price was justified for the stay, would recommend. The only lacking thing was the view, don’t expect a good view when looking out the window in the room. I will stay here when visiting Budapest again.

The hotel is so much more than the legendary New York Cafe - one of the finest in the world! Service is impressive - consistent, genuine, heartfelt and very efficient! Despite the size of the hotel, you will be impressed staff would address you by name. Breakfast is a treat - one of the best in Budapest. White Salon Restaurant is a must ! - superb quality food and top service - do not miss the Hungarian traditional dishes.

The hotel is indeed impressive, our room was a little disappointing (didn't look like the pictures), though still quite nice. However, hotel's own (the best) part of the New York Cafe makes it a must experience. The dinner at the White Salon (the balcony) with delicious and reasonable menu, beautiful live music, the best ambience and impeccable service, made it the highlight of our visit. The breakfast was even more incredible with the whole crew of waitresses, servers and managers going out of their way to please guests in the sublimely beautiful environment with outstanding food offerings. 6 out of 5 stars. Both reception and the restaurant/breakfast staff were extremely professional, attentive and friendly. Special thanks to our wonderful dinner and breakfast waitresses! Again, this is a must experience in a beautiful Budapest.

Beautiful hotel, great restaurant with excellent food. Each single person of the staff is very friendly and smiles at you. Added benefit is that the hotel and the New York Cafe are in the same building, so when having a meal in the restaurant, you are in a private balcony area within the New York Cafe. Better seating, service and food. Highly recommended!

Absolutely stunning hotel with luxurious rooms, beautiful architecture and service to match. We stayed for 4 nights and accessed the cafe next door as well as the spa and pool. The rooms are very spacious and beautifully decorated. The pool can be accessed from 9 to 9 daily. Breakfast is in the New York Cafe (own private area downstairs) as the main area is incredibly busy all day long with queues! Cannot rate this place highly enough!

We were in Budapest for 3 days as a tourist. We definitely had to visit the famous cafes of New York. We waited in line for about an hour, but that's normal for this place. At any time of the day to come you will have to wait in line because it is very crowded. The inside is beautiful, we are speechless. It's really worth the hour wait. We took hot chocolate with 24 karat gold, it's really delicious. To go to a place like this you have to be armed with patience, if you are not ready for that, don't even go. I definitely recommend it.

Price place, but for the price you get opportunity to make amazing, movie like photos. Amazing interior. Coffe average quality.. Food tasty.. Crowded all the time. Stuff not too friendly, but it's reasonable too much people daily.. overall if you want to wait in line, pay 12e for coffee and 25e for a breakfast, get Amazing photos for a social network.. This is a perfect place!!! 5*

It's an amazing place. It must be experienced. We ordered coffee and Italian breakfast. I added the bill. The musicians, the atmosphere are amazing, very impressive.

Review for Spa:

World class spa, with highly attentive service and well trained technicians. I had the pleasure of getting a massage from Ilona. She was phenomenal! I had a sprained ankle which she therapeutically massaged with so much care. I can’t recommend her enough.

Zita coordinated everything and was an absolute pleasure to deal with. She fit me in the last minute on a holiday. Thank you!

The hotel was truly amazing. Especially the service was exceptional. We also loved the breakfast in the famous New York Café. The hotel has avery nice gym and a spa. As Germans we were a bit irritated that swimwear was mandatory in the spa, but we assume the German standard isn't that common abroad. About the location: The hotel is in a very nice neighborhood with many shops and restaurants. Nevertheless the rooms were very quiet. The inner city with the main sights is a 20-30 minute walk.

An incredible three night stay here for a long weekend.

The rooms are incredible; we had the standard room, which was so spacious and clean. The toiletries (Aqua de Parma) and towels/robes/slippers were of high quality. The room was cleaned daily to a high standard with a turn down service in the evening. They also often left little goodies such as bookmarks or small cookies too! Large closet space with lots of hangers. TV was a great size and worked well. The shower was fitted as part of the bathtub, which was probably the only (very very minor) inconvenience.

The spa downstairs was great. I didn’t get any treatments but the sauna, steam room and pool were really good. A hot tub or jacuzzi would complete the spa but still, I used the facilities every day and had no complaints. The pool is long and narrow and certainly more for relaxing. It was heated adequately (possibly could have been a bit warmer). They had ample seating and a nice little drinks station, though the cooler stopped working on the last day, producing only warm water.

We visited the gym but didn’t use the facilities. Very clean with lots of equipment. If we stayed for longer, I probably would’ve used it.

The hotel itself is very beautiful. The architecture, especially lobby, is incredible. You also have the major added bonus of the buffet breakfast and queue skipping of the New York cafe. I’d almost just recommend staying here, even if it’s just for the buffet breakfast! The queues for the cafe start at 10am, if not before, and were often still there when we returned to the hotel at 7pm.

The location is great. A bit further away from the main city centre (20 min walk to the downtown part) but everything is walkable and this probably meant the surrounding streets were quieter. 30ish mins from the airport, which cost about £15-20 one way on Bolt.

The service was great, but certainly not exceptional. They extended checkout by one hour and that’s only because I’m a GHA discovery member (awaiting approval of Gold status). They sadly would not change the booking to my name so I could confirm my Gold status but that’s not a major deal. Sadly, no upgrades were offered, only up to a suite, which was chargeable. Again, this was expected as upgrades are a bonus! They did have a cake waiting in the room as it was a birthday trip, which was actually very good.

Overall, highly recommend this hotel. Buffet breakfast and spa use are musts. Service is great but front desk staff could offer more to enhance the guest experience. I would definitely stay here again should I visit Budapest.

Truly beautiful hotel. Stayed for 2 nights this week. Magical ambience at breakfast with amazing food, decor and live music which showed Hungary at its finest. The breakfast staff (manager?) who showed his magic Rubik’s cube and card tricks to a young boy at the table next to ours was amazing - we were in awe! Thankyou for the unexpected entertainment. This hotel is one in a million, professional friendly staff, high spec bedrooms - and all in a city full of history and architectural splendour.

Exceptional hotel by all standards. Definitely one of the most beautiful and most luxurious hotels I've seen in Europe. The architecture and interior design are second to none. The attention you get from the staff is beyond expectations. The rooms are so comfortable and equipped with everything you might need. On top of all that, the breakfast in café new York is phenomenal 🙌

Breakfast is being taken at the New York Cafe and for the dinner you have a premium vip zone separate from the other people that wait in the line for hours outside for the cafe. I'd like to note that the experience is personalised by the amazing staff and Krisztian always eager to help you!

Anantara New York Palace was without a doubt the most incredible hotel we have ever stayed at, and we have been all over the world from Tahiti to Thailand to Dubai! We came here to celebrate our honeymoon, and this truly captured the occasion well - maximum luxury, incredible service, wonderful food, fantastic amenities, and a perfect overall experience! To put it in perspective, I would travel all the way to Budapest purely for this hotel alone - it is that impressive!

The architecture and interior design is unlike any other hotel I’ve ever seen before. You really feel you like are in a palace the entire time you are at this place! There is a fantastic café attached to the hotel - the New York Café, and it is a huge reason you stay at this hotel. It’s the #1 spot in Budapest, ranked the most beautiful café in the world, and there is always a line of hundreds of people outside the door trying to get breakfast/lunch/dinner. If you stay at the hotel and get breakfast, you can completely bypass the entire line and eat immediately - well worth the price!! It is an incredible breakfast buffet. One of the best I’ve ever had at any hotel.

The entire staff is incredibly attentive and cared to our every need, and the spa is the coolest spa in any hotel ever! They have an underground private heated pool (seen in my picture) and incredible services!! And you also feel extremely safe at this hotel - the second someone walks inside, multiple staff members come up to the person to be sure they’re allowed in the hotel. And they remember you if you are a guest! I just can’t get over how perfect this hotel is. It’s worth the money, and you will have a wonderful time if you stay here. I can’t wait to return!

100% perfect - location is very convenient and close to transports, train station and tons of bars and restaurants. The staff is super kind and helpful, from reception to breakfast, room cleaning, in-room dining, spa, luggage etc, everyone was lovely and efficient. Rooms are lush, clean and quiet. The fitness room is top quality. Having breakfast in the New York Café was a highlight of my stay. A true 5* experience.

Exceptional service and very nice facilities. If you stay use the baths and sauna, a great experience. The breakfast there is not to be missed. The exercise room is well painted but could use some additional weight benches for major muscle workouts.

One of the finest and most opulent hotels in Budapest. Classical luxury is how best to describe it... we love to come here regularly.
