An excellent wine tasting from the winemaker Kate. The wines are delicious, the food is also very good. We loved hearing how each wine is produced & loved seeing the wine cellar. We also met the famous cat, Foltos.

I had an incredible experience at this winery. As a customer, I was truly impressed by the quality of their wines. I had the pleasure of trying all 10 varieties, and I must say, they were all exceptional. Among them, my favorite was the Kaleidoscope, its taste and complexity were truly remarkable. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the entire tasting experience enjoyable. I highly recommend this winery to anyone visiting the Tokaj wine region. It's a must-visit for wine enthusiasts seeking outstanding wines and a memorable time.

Incredible place. Highly recommended to visit, the lady was really nice and friendly. She showed us wine cellar, told the story of their winery and even she was interested where we came from, super friendly.
And there's lovely cat

The winery is a small family business, but the winery tasting experience and cellar tour is huge and impressive. Owner's daughter introduced different types of grapes, and the reason why Tokaj is a perfect region for noble wine. Drinking the white wine and noble in the meatime of the wine tour guide, I really have a good time in the afternoon.

The winery is close to the main square. The building, winery, terrace are nicely arranged. We had a tasting with 6 wines, all white as per the region, 2 dry, 1 semi sweet and 3 sweet. Good hospitality, explanations were relatively basic at first but then more complete towards the end of tasting. Dry wines very specific, different but with a common taste probably from the soil. Taste is quite strong, different than most other wines. The sweets are great. The prices are mid or a bit above, but good experience.

Amazing experience loved to meet the great energy from the winery and careful detail all around. The care they have on producing wine and telling their stories and challenges make it worth the visit. This is a family owned small vineyard with good wine.

The experience at Himesudvar was fantastic! This is an authentic Tokaj family business. Peter was very helpful, he picked us up at our hotel and gave us a great tour of his winery and vineyards. His knowledge and passion towards his job is admirable. I really recommend the full tour and wine tasting.

We had great experience in Himesudvar. Peter helped us for transporting from train station to town. First, we had chance to visit family vineyard where Peter explained domestic grape species. He was kindly shared Kövérszőlő for tasting. Then we informed about the process of wine making in their lovely place. I strongly recommend this small family business. They helped us very clearly since we had first contact in mail to end of the tour in Tokaj.

It is sure that when we will have chance to visit Magyarorzsag again our first destination will be Himesudvar in Tokaj.

Had an amazing quick visit today. The “Kövérszőlő 2019” was so good, that we might go back just to pick up some bottles from the 2013 harvest.

Peter is super friendly, the wine is amazing, especially the sweet ones! Our personal recommendation is for the brie wrapped in bacon, served with toast and quince marmelade - out of this world! Worth coming to Tokaj just to visit this place.

I really enjoy the wine and testing set here.
deeper information of Tokaji were provided by kind clerk.

They also have garden and chair, where you can enjoy your wine and chill a bit there.

I really enjoy the aszu 2013, even though I bring it back to my hometown-Taiwan, thanks you for providing such good wine.

Lovely family owned winery and cellar. Loved Tokaj Furmint! Just so refreshing. After the wine tasting they offered us to check the cellar, which was so nice. Also there are small snacks for wine. Can also buy bottle of wine.

Great wine tasting experience! We just called this morning and they welcomed us kindly. Tasting was in english and very interesting information about wine and Tokaj region. You can also visit the cellar. The surroundings of the house are very nice and a huge recommended place to take a wine out of the crowd of the streets of Tokaj downtown.

I visited Hímesudvar winery when I was looking for a good Tokaj wines. I was welcomed by very kind lady who showed me the old wine cellar and I could taste a few great wines. This small family own business produce a few varieties of great wines from locally grown grapes. I got a discount and a nice, practical opener when I bought a few bottles.
I recommend this place if you are looking for a good, original taste of Tokaj wine.

Very good wines and a nice place with friendly people.
Got to visit the cellar.
I was also interested in getting close to some vineyard but since their family vineyard is far away, the lady who served me assisted me with the direction to the vineyard of the local big company, which you can actually see from the train as you get to Tokaj from Budapest.

It's 3.5-hour train ride from Budapest and a further 25-minute walk from the train station.

Absolutely fantastic visit to a Tokaj winery! One of many small operations that sprung up after the change in government of 1990. Very knowledgeable in particular about the "noble rot" known for producing these wines. Good place to try the sweet "Essence" wine which is otherwise very hard to find. We got to tour their cellar as well after the tasting, which was quite fun. Absolutely worth the train ride in and out of Budapest, although if you can rent a car and stay overnight I'd recommend that instead

A delightful wine tasting experience. The owners are more than great. We had a thorough lecture on how the wine is made accompanied by a generous wine sample. Menu and story behind the wine is also avaliable in Polish and English or German. Tasty wine in an amazing surroundings. One of the best customer service I encountered in Hungary. Heads up for a great hospitality :)

The fact that out of the (currently) 350+ reviews on Google Maps the vast majority of them are 5 stars is not an accident.

I have to state that I might be a bit biased, but I just love Hímesudvar. It is a small, family-owned winery that captures the essence of the Tokaj wine region. The owners and shoprunners are very kind people, the shop and its garden is just beautiful (especially after the recent revamp) and you cannot go wrong with any of the wines in their sortiment.

It's all very friendly and peaceful. If you are in and around of Tokaj, Hímesudvar is highly recommended if you want to wind down, enjoy one of Tokaj's finest to offer and enjoy the scenery.

You will go back for more.

5*s for Foltos. :)) Great winery, that doesn’t require advance reservation, and gives cellar tour to their guests.

The place is close to the historic town center and easy to find. We went on a cold and foggy November day and sat inside for a 1.5h wine tasting which cost around 5000HUF. The wines were good and there was extra information provided about each of them. We also got to take a look at the wine cellar. We were very satisfied with the experience!h
