Nádasdy castle

A well-preserved medieval castle that was used until the middle of the 20th century. Lovely rooms, valuable furniture plus a concise history of the Nádasdy hussars and the Hungarian cavalry in general.

Actually this one is a bit of a hidden gem. I was expecting a bit antiquated small-town museum but this one is very well curated and labeled in excellent English. There is one expo specifically featuring the Husars or Hungarian cavalry and their history from medival times on. The display is excelent and not overwhelmingly more-of-the-same, as in many other museums. I'm looking at you austrian castel exhibition curators. However, especially the part about the two word wars have a bit much of that war hero tint. The other parts are about the castel and the town, equivalently well presented.

We lucked out to enjoy the weekend with medieval festival. The people dressed in time period clothes were the best and most authentic I've ever seen.

Picturesque small castle in the middle of the town. The museum inside is surprisingly interesting and well-maintained. There was some confusion with the opening times, but other than that it was great.

Its a really beautiful old castle build around 1288. There is also a museum (cost 500 Ft/adult)

The park is peaceful and beautiful, I was learning for my exams there 20 years ago, mostly successfully. The castle is nicely renovated, the museum is interesting, however the cashier was trying to discourage us from starting our visit an hour before closing time. There are many good concerts organized in the inner yard, and there is _the_library_ where my inner sci-fi geek grew up.

A lot going on there! Kids rehearsed a play in the castle, when we were there. The museum is worth going too! The park around the castle walls offers a nice walk and the kids can run around. A quiet place inside of this otherwise busy town.

Great collection about Hussars and Hungary history. If you love swords, weapons, army and history you should visit this place.

Interesting exhibition about the history of Hussars & the history of Nádasdy-family with lot of English/German text (not only Hungarian).
