Madal Cafe

I've been there in winter w/ my friends and this place saved us. We travelled from Romania in a disgusting Romanian train and this was the first place we've entered in Budapest. Let me just say that I'm going to travel from Poland to Budapest this summer just for this coffee. And I need to say thank you to the lady that was working that day ( 6th of February). We looked like hobos, we were stinky, disgusting and this lady was the most lovely and nicest person I've met the entire trip. I think "kindness" is her second name. She gave us coffee and warm croissant with the biggest smile on her face. So little ment so much for us at this time. Thank you lady!

A cute little place on a pedestrian side street. Delicious croissant, coffee and tea. And most importantly (which is not common unfortunately in Budapest), a service with a smile and respect for the customers, both locals and tourists. Kudos!

The place looks small from the outside but they actually have a spacious lounge underground. Nice coffee, good croissant.

Really good hot chocolate! Tasted like a real one (i.e, not super overly sweet). The crossaints were tasty too

Delicious coffee, perfect for a gathering with friends or solo. I tried the matcha latte and it was fantastic!

Excellent place that has comfortable seats and atmosphere.
I tried vegan lemon cake and it was good. Filtered coffee was fine for me.
Moreover, there are several books to read, and arts of meditator to admire!

Very good coffe for resonable price (espresso 600HUF, cold brew 1200 HUF). They have also gluten free and vegan cakes (cheesecake, brownies...)

Loved it! Iced flat white was a life-saviour in such weather, delicious coffee. Additional plus from me for vegan options in menu and being dog-friendly (so I rate 7 out of 5 stars actually).

Coffee is outstanding, coworking space downstairs can be a bit noisy depending on the day, but comfy space for a basement :’)

Nice small coffee shop but they have another tables downstairs. The barista was friendly and polite. The atmosphere was good inside which can make comfortable to enjoy your coffee or just having some bites in there. I ordered green matcha latte which was absolutely good as well. Only positive review I can give.

I came here to work on my computer, and it seems that in the morning everyone else on the lower level came here for the same reason. There was someone giving a one-to-one English lesson, someone else taking part in an online meeting, and three other people sitting at two other desks, working silently on their laptops. So this is a good place to work (and indeed it is: strong wifi and plenty of power sockets; no waiters around, as the place is self-service, so you don't feel the pressure of someone wanting you to go elsewhere).

It's a good place to study, good coffee, good environment, service is great !

Cheerful staff and a very good barista. We were there 1 hour before they closed but they were still so joyful and smiling. Really inspiring.

Coffee was great and the place has a peaceful athmosphere.

Delicious mochas and vegan pastries. Vegan chocolate babka was amazing and vegan lemon filled croissant was tasty and very unique.

Went way out of my way to get to this spot but I’m glad I got to see a different part of the city. Great coffee with the best outdoor seating of all the coffee shops I’ve been to. Unfortunately the people watching isn’t as great since there aren’t many tourists in the neighborhood. Coffee was was bolder which was welcoming and more local knowledge for you, you can walk right around the corner and get the 75 that will take you directly to Hero’s Square and the fine arts museum in less than 15 mins. Just a thought…

I was introduced to this place by my partner, and understand why she likes it here, very attentive service and care given to you as you arrive, great ambience..zen like environment and has an interesting and genuine history to is name and dedicated to a guru. Lovely friendly staffs, very nice ambience with a spacious lounge behind to chill. Desserts were largely vegan here. There's also a Batista campus behind the lounge with large transparent glasses, coincidentally there was a class so we get to see some of the processes of coffee brewing.

The best vegan sandwiches and desserts, most of the times they have rice and soy milk (I do miss other plant options). Great place tó meet, work. Chilling and quite (downstairs), but be careful with the stairs. 😅😅😅
