Nice staff, perfect service, Hungarianish food in big portions. Served us gently overhours. (Do not expect fine dining.) Real traditional Hungarian restaurant.

Hard to miss this building! A 4 or 5 story high windmill made of red bricks in Kecskemét. 4 of us had a lovely meal here at the Szēlmalom Csárda/Windmill Tavern after visiting the Mercedes Factory. Traditional country food, the menus are in Hungarian, German and English. Like most restaurants here you order your main, and then the koretts/Sides to go with it. 4 of us came with appetites. We had Baja Fish soup, each cauldron coming with a huge basket of sliced bread. Fried Chicken breast stuffed with Camembert and dried prunes and a Pork Schnitzel. We had Potatoe wedges and crushed potatoe and onions as well as cucumber salad as sides. Food was delicious, attractively plated and the serves were ridiculously huge. We were hungry and could only eat about half the serves. They happily packaged them for us to take home for only 150forints. If you want to have entree and a dessert, I suggest you share dishes between 2 people as we would have loved to try a dessert but we're way too full. The atmosphere is interesting old worldy with various farming items and pictures on the circular walls and a polished wood plank floor. Waiters were very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended.

Fine traditional Hungarian food and a nice atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff. The only downside is that the portions are huge.

Naprawdę polecam, pyszne jedzenie, miła obsługa i naprawdę syte porcje. Polecam medalion wołowy, jest to stek i naprawdę dobrze zrobiony (mid rare). Za cały obiad, piwo i obsługę zapłacone ok. 10k forintów 115zł na czerwiec 2024, naprawdę warto!

Hangulatos hely, kedves kiszolgálás. Elég nagy adagot kap az ember. Gombapaprikást ettem, finom volt. Az árak is rendben vannak.

Das Restaurant ist in einer alten Mühle untergebracht und sehr gemütlich. Im Sommer kann man auch draußen sitzen. Ich war nun in mehreren Jahren öfter vor Ort und hatte nie einen Grund mich zu beschweren. Das Essen ist sehr lecker, die Preise sind vernünftig und das Personal/ der Betreiber sind sehr nett und sprechen deutsch.
