Ahogy lesétálunk a lépcsőn a vonattól, ott vár minket Szőnyi István szobra, a nevét viselő általános iskola előtt. Ha jól láttam, a Szőnyi múzeum kertjében is van egy Szőnyi szobor, és korábban itt a faluban is volt még egy másik, de az eltűnt, ellopták. Ez, amit itt látunk, az eltűnt pótlásaként került ide, hogy megemlékezzen Zebegény híres fiáról, aki 37 éven át élt és alkotott Zebegényben.
