This is the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Sam Ratulangi University. The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences was established on 1 August, 1958 under the name Faculty of Administration which is the fourth faculty of Manado College (Perguruan Tinggi Manado). In 1961 the Faculty of Administration was changed to the Faculty of Socio-Political Sciences. On 1 September, 1982, the Faculty of Socio-Political Sciences changed its name to the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences until now.

When I applied to enter college, namely at Sam Ratulangi University, of the two major choices, the second choice was the department of communication sciences here, the first choice was the department of English literature at the faculty of cultural sciences. If I passed the second choice I would definitely be a student of department of communication sciences at this faculty but in the end I became a student of English literature at the faculty of cultural sciences.

Ini adalah Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik. Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik berdiri sejak 1 Agustus 1958 dengan nama Fakultas Tata Praja yang merupakan fakultas keempat dari Perguruan Tinggi Manado (PTM). Pada tahun 1961 Fakultas Tata Praja diubah menjadi Fakultas Ilmu Sosial Politik. Pada 1 September 1982, Fakultas Sosial Politik berganti nama menjadi Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik sampai sekarang.

Saat aku mendaftar masuk perguruan tinggi yaitu di Universitas Sam Ratulangi, dari dua pilihan jurusan, pilihan kedua adalah jurusan ilmu komunikasi yang ada disini, pilihan pertama adalah jurusan sastra Inggris di fakultas ilmu budaya. Jika aku lolos di pilihan kedua aku pasti jadi mahasiswa ilmu komunikasi di fakultas ini namun pada akhirnya aku jadi mahasiswa sastra Inggris di fakultas ilmu budaya.
