Nice viewpoint and nice beach if you are fit enough.
It was not even crowded there in March.

When you want to go down to the beach consider please that you will need to climb up later.
For average tourists this is feasible but it needs time and and healthy condition.
After half way it’s not stairs anymore but climbing on the rocks.
I would advise not to stay until sunset because it’s dangerous to climb up in the dark.
Swimming is not recommended if you are not a good swimmer. The waves and the seashore drift is very strong.

Nature's beauty at its best. The hike is what makes the experience amazing. The stunning view of the beach from the top is mesmerizing. Luckily it wasn't that crowded when we visited. Please do drink tender coconut water once you finish your hike and get back. Help local business.

One of the best beaches I’ve been to! View is stunning, water is clear and blue, beach is white and soft. The climb down/up is hard so be wary of that! It’s more like rock climbing (wear good shoes). The current is strong but fun to swim in!

The most beautiful beach I have ever seen. The sand is amazing, the waves are huge, the water crystal clear.
It's worth arriving early and going down while it's still not crowded and hot. Part of the way is stairs and then the adventure turns into a climb. It is worth arriving in closed shoes. At the beach you can buy water and snacks.

Amazing views from the top of the cliffs, although there were a lot of people going here to get a nice picture.
Most people won't actually go down to the beach, so expect a lower amount of people on the way down.
The first bit down is fairly easy with nice steps, but the way quickly turns to rugged stones.
The way down gets really steep and some of the stones can be slippery due to wear and tear. Some people did this in slippers and bare feet, but please think about your fitness and your choice of footwear before going down!
Amazing views at the bottom and a lot of green areas for shade, but the waves were quite violent.

We left close to sunset, and managed to get a really nice view from the mountain ridge without that many people. The only downside were the monkeys, that WILL try to steal your plastic water bottle.

But the experience and the views were all worth it! 😃

Must visit spot of course. Absolutely stunning.
Now if you want the whole experience, away from the tourist gathering at the first 6 steps… here are our tips.

Get there early. We arrived at 9 and about had 10-15 other people there, when we left 2 hours later it was packed.
Would even go earlier if possible.

Bring HIKING SHOES.
Seen so many with sandals and flip flops having to take them of and do it barefoot.
Do not swim in the water at the bottom, crazy currents.

This trip is not for the faint hearted and untrained.
Bring lots of water, I’ve never produced this much sweat in my life.

Bring a small backpack or something so you have both hands for the climbing.

It’s a 5k parking fee if you drive yourself.

This place is really cool. It's maybe one of the best beaches I've ever seen in my entire life and I've been to 86 countries that the walk or should I say truck is exhausting and you definitely have to be in shape to do it. I would wear shoes. I saw a bunch of people wearing flip-flops and I was wondering how on earth they do it. I would take a towel with you and plenty of water but definitely definitely do the hike. It's 100% recommended

Beautiful Kelingking beach!

This may be one of the most famous place visited in Nusa Penida by tourists, and now I understand why. It is a little rocky path to go down, definitely worth it though!

I strongly recommend to watch the sunset here, the pictures does not fully reflect reality 🌅

This is another hidden gem of Penida Island. Very high cliff but can walk down to the beach. Very nice photos from the top. Should go in the morning as you can walk to the beach by stairs. The stairs were too crowded. Go in the early morning! You can also walk on the lower ridge to a point like an island. Enjoy.

We recommend you show up early if you're going to climb down to the sand. This is one of my Top 5 beaches in the world (that I've visited). Wonderful views on all sides as you descend and ascend. It took us longer to get down (45 minutes) as we were very cautious. The climb up was faster (30 minutes) as you can use both hands and feet to secure yourself. The mid-day sun will BAKE you as there is little shade except hugging the cliffs. This is a MUST VISIT BEACH in Indonesia if you are adventurous and want to enjoy one of the most BEAUTIFUL beaches in the world. Best times are early morning or early evening (though if you come after 9am, expect big crowds until late afternoon).

Incredible sunset views
You can motorbike here or take a cab
Lots of monkeys.
Steep walk and hundreds of steps to go down to the beach. But its worth it. Be safe and wear proper shoes and not flip flops if going down

Glorious beach, like something out of a James Bond movie! Water is crystal clear. Saw manta rays right by the shore, absolutely amazing! However.. definitely be aware of the extremely steep descent. Take your time and wear good footwear. Well worth the sweat. The ascend is arguably easier as you're not as afraid of slipping. 10/10 would recommend to a friend!

Beautiful views! It’s one of the most famous beaches in the world and we get the hype!
Make sure you go early. We arrived at 6.30am, there was no one there yet and we could still park our scooter for free. We had plenty of time to take some nice drone pictures and videos. We then started our hike down.
Bring water and wear proper shoes, the hike down is not easy so don’t try it with flip flops (even though the locals do it on flipflops or barefoot). By the time we got back up the tour buses had arrived (they arrive around 9-10am) and it gets extremely crowded.

Absolutely beautiful! I visited just before sunset around 4 pm, and to my delight, there were fewer tourists present. Despite hearing about potential long wait times, my experience was quite pleasant. It took around 20 minutes to descend to the beach and roughly 30 minutes to ascend back. The journey is challenging but incredibly worthwhile. The beach itself is simply breathtaking, and the water is equally magnificent. Additionally, local vendors provide amenities like water and towel rentals, which can be convenient for visitors.

I made the choice to go all the way down to the beach. Please do so safely and only if you want a challenge. It REALLY isn’t a walk in the park. Remember to stay hydrated. Cover up from the sun. Heatstrokes are no joke and please don’t make someone have to come rescue you. Take breaks! It’s absolutely fine to stop as frequently as you need to. There’s a lot of scrambling. If you’re big on safety then this activity isn’t for you.

I don’t think you should reach the bottom with the intention of swimming there. The water is NOT calm.

It is absolutely gorgeous and I’m so glad I have had the experience, but having done it once I do not wish to do it again especially while on a timed tour where I don’t get to lay down and relax for a few hours after reaching the bottom.

Be careful about the way! Everyone talking about the Diamond beach and not to much people talk about that way... Really high and vertical path. Not for everyone and it takes me more than 30 minutes to go dawn and maybe 40 to come up. Go slowly and stay safe also in the beach, there are lot of waves!
If you want to visit quietly you should be there at 8 am maximum

The sunset also is pretty nice

A beautiful beautiful bay with gorgeous views!!! Only 5k for parking (and probably the upkeep of the area) which is pretty good considering how many tourists visit. Bathrooms at the top range from 5k to 15k. The view is seriously so beautiful!! Most people stay up at the top but some people will take the risk of climbing all the way down to the beach. I say risk because it was really a challenge getting down there. I think most reviews don’t mention exactly how tiring it can be xD or maybe I’m just not athletic enough. The hardest parts are when you make the turn off the cliff and actually start a serious descent. The rocks can be very narrow and sometimes I had to reposition myself several times to reach the next footstep (I’m 5’3). The descent was pretty grueling in my opinion. The sun was hot on my back, people are coming up so you have to squeeze to the side. It can be very dangerous at times. Nonetheless the beach itself was gorgeous! There’s a mini “mart” that sells water and snacks but as you can imagine they are very expensive. These workers bring them down themselves! A regular bottle (0.5L I believe) will cost you 40k so PLEASE make sure you bring enough water. You do not want to get overheated down there. When went, there were times when the waves were huge!!! Like 10ft tall almost. It was so beautiful. We spent hours on the beach playing in the waves and just enjoying the beauty but also cooling down. In my opinion, the climb back up was not as hard as coming down. Yes my muscles ached and breathing got hard but it was much easier finding the footholds and pulling myself up. Views are 10/10!

It's one of the best cliff views you can witness. The place is absolutely amazing, but there are some concerns too. Mainly the place is too busy all the time. To get a proper place to take a breathtaking view, you may need to wait and be careful when standing on edges. People just keep coming to the edges with cameras. There are some terraces around there with viewing points, but you have to pay 5k -10k depending on location per person. The main concern is that when we walk down to the beach, these steps are irregular and small. You get easily tired because of it, especially while coming back. Many steps are too high or some are too small. But the view is really worth your efforts.
You can take the other viewpoint near to the parking area with another 5 min walking. That place is very less crowded and gives you beautiful views of the cliff.

Steep but worth every step. Definitely find your way down to a beach, don't swim just feel and soak in the water currents are very strong and dangerous. Parking is 5k. Take some good shoes not a flipflops and some water. There is no toilet down on the beach but there is small bar where you can get water, beer and soft drinks like coconut

Truly one of the most unique places in the world that I have ever seen! It is stunningly beautiful with so much character. There are monkeys at the top that are surprisingly tame, and if you like you can take the long trek down to the beach. Even if you go part way there are still many few spots to take beautiful photographs.
