Trekking Orangutan Sumatra

An incredible experience. We did a two-day trek in the jungle accompanied by our guide Roni, it was just the two of us with him and it was great! We saw a whole bunch of animals. Our guide is truly passionate and knows a lot about nature. We surpassed our limits smoothly and we are proud of it. Bendy the boss then took us to see the elephants. A magical moment... Thank you for all this beauty! Thanks also to our driver Edy and our cook Oloc. Great team!

We did the two days trek, everything was perfect!

They managed everything, from the airport taxi to the hotel. The guide was very enthusiastic and shared a lot of knowledge about the jungle with us.

And of course, we saw many monkeys: orangutan, thomas leaf, baboon…

P.S. It is a local company, so you help directly the local people with them :)

We did the 3day private jungle trekking and totally enjoyed it from the first to the last minute.
Our guides Dedek and Brem were the most helpful and experienced guys in the jungle, so that we were lucky to spot several Orang Utans and different gibbon species.
The trek was challenging and scenic at the same time and the catering was 5 stars (thanks to Chef :-)).
On the last day we were guided to a hidden waterfall in the middle of the jungle and took the jungle taxi (white water rafting) back to Bukit Lawang.

The transfer from/to Medan airport worked out smoothly and comfortably and Dedek waited patiently for our arrival due to a flight delay.

We cannot think of any better company and accompaniment for this experience and hope to come back in the future for even a longer trekking tour. Would give 7 stars if possible!

Communication with the team was always on an outstanding level. They answered all questions in a very short time. We needed to ask due to changed flight details several times for review our plans. They did find appropriate solutions and organized best accommodations as well in Bukit Lawang as directly at the airport in Medan (due to an very early flight).

We would like to mention as well the accommodation in the jungle. They always exceeded our expectations. Even in the middle of the jungle they were able to organize two pillows for us :).

We had such an amazing experience with Trekking Orangutan Sumatra. Our guides, Nurdin and Randy, were exceptionally knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions. On our trek we saw a wide array of jungle wildlife including monkeys, toucans, peacocks, and of course we had many sightings of the wonderful orange orangutans. The touring was completely ethical, practicing “leave no trace,” and no animals were fed or baited. We chose to stay overnight in the jungle and we’re very pleased with the accommodations. For lunches we had filling meals and and array of local fruit. At camp we had tea, coffee, and snacks. For dinner an amazing Indonesian meal was prepared with many delicious dishes for us to try. On our way out of the jungle we floated on a raft, which was great fun. I highly recommend this company for a great deal and an experience of a lifetime.

Great experience for the one-day trek. We saw 3 orangutans, among other animals. The hike was a bit challenging after the heavy rain, very slippery. The guides (Jonish and Edwin) were great.

Probably one of the best Trekking companies in Bukit Lawang, if not the best.

I went for Orangutan trekking once in 2015 with my cousins, we had to crossed the river with a small boat and i remembered there were tons of small stairs and we need to climb those stairs in order to reach to the top of the jungle(?) to meet the orangutans. It was one of the greatest experiences I've ever had.

My husband and I visited Bukit Lawang and went on the amazing Orangutan trek! We recommend asking for Colin (pronounced like Colin Powell), he was a wonderful guide! We camped in the jungle, white water rafted and saw many orangutans on our trek!!! Such an unforgettable experience!

I am not sure which tour company I tried. But Price for tubbing+tour is very negotiable everywhere in Indonesia. Anyway this tour is amazing. You can see orangutan so close. Baby was so cute ♥ tubbing was so fun. The night I spent in the jungle was also amazing. I spent a night with other traveler next to the river and they made simple food from the wood fire and stayed under the shed where you can here water, trees sounds.

Btw be aware some guides if you are solo female traveler. They are following you everywhere to have drinks or hook up. Sometimes it was creepy. They want to get married someone from wealthy country 😂 experienced more than 3-4 guides....try to do it to me.
