Amazing little homestay run by the nicest family. They accept you in as family. Food was 10/10. Please get the semur curry. It’s exactly what you need after a few days trekking. The best meal I’ve had in Indonesia so far

Amazing stay and such welcoming people. They have a restaurant on site and offers great food at fair prices. Semur curry is a must!!

We ate here twice during our stay and the food was lovely. The owner’s (husband and wife) are very accommodating and helpful. Thank you for a lovely meal and for being so kind.

We went to the Lawang Inn for dinner - food was great, cheap prices.

To top it off, it started pouring when we were going to leave the restaurant. The owner didn’t have any umbrellas so went into his back yard and cut a huge leaf for each of us - worked perfectly as an umbrella and was very thoughtful of the owner!

I ate here many times during my stay in Bukit Lawang, for breakfast and dinner, excellent food, great prices, and friendly family who run it, highly recommend!

Amazing food, best rendang I’ve had on my trip in Indonesia. The owners are really sweet and speak good English! It doesn’t look like much, and the seating isn’t amazing, but the food makes up for it. Note that the location is a little off by maybe 20 meters.

The food here is amazing, authentic local dishes with great flavour. For breakfast there’s also the option of local homemade bread which was delicious, the best bread I’ve had in the past 3 months in S.E Asia!!

I arrived at Bukit lawang after a long day of traveling, just wanted to eat something and go to my room afterwards.
But what I got was so much more than delicious food. It was the owner couple, which welcomed me to Sumatra with a warm smile and a very good, smart and witty conversation. Thanks so much!

Amazing food - the best we’ve had in Indonesia. And super friendly hosts! Can’t recommend enough - wonder why there weren’t more people when we where there (three times - first for cold beer, but came back for dinner twice)!

Lovely restaurant with plenty of vegetarian & vegan options. The tofu & tempeh sambal is so delicious that we ordered a second helping right away! Warm welcome + friendly cats.

We stayed for 1 night in this hotel. Room was clean and nice. Staff was very friendly. Jeri also organized our rides from Medan to Bukit Lawang and back. We got a shared taxi from Medan to Bukit Lawang for 120k per person which was very fair. It was a normal car with 2 other tourists. The way back we had a private car for 500k in total. Breakfast was good (chocolate pancake with coffee or tea), altough they had no banana's (maybe the monkeys ate all of it 🤔😅).

We had 2 amazing meals there, not so expensive. They use only fresh ingredients - they have a wide range of local dishes. We ate only vegetarian dishes such as tempeh sambal, coconut curry vegetable (eggplant and pumpkin) and their shakes are very tasty - i recommand the banana - cinnamon shake. They also make their own bread - delicious.

One the best value in the village. Simple friendly and cheap.
The restaurant is good especially the rendang.
