Prepare a comfortable trekking shoes, mosquito spray water and food and Rainboaw coat. Because Rainfall forest has high posibility of rain in any time.
There are 3 types of adventures they offer the tourist : 3 hors trekking, 1 day Trekking and 2 days trekking. Most of the foreign tourist book 2days trekking.

I went there back in December 2011 and had an amazing day watching both the adult and baby orangutans in the trees, plus a mother and baby on a feeding platform. Our guide was very knowlegeable and spotted the orangutans very easily.
We stayed at the Jungle Inn, (more expensive than most places in Bukit but really worth it) which is very close to where you cross the river to the orangutan wardens station and has amazing views over the river.

A huge nature, wild jungle at North Sumatra. Be careful if you decided to go for a jungle trekking where you don’t know what happen cause there a lot of wild animals. Here a great place to meet Orang Utans with its habitats. Surely, you can’t enter the jungle without a professional ranger where They lead you to meet orang utans and others wild animals. If you interested in to meet orang utans this place is recommended 👍👍👍

Melihat kehidupan primata Orangutan Sumateradi alam liar, trekingnya lumayan berat karena cukup terjal,menyebrangi sungai Bahorok yang pernah memakan banyak korban jiwa akibat banjir bandang pd tahun 2003

Setelah negosiasi yang alot, akhirnya sepakat harga untuk jasa guide, menemani trekking di bukit lawang, untuk melihat orang utan, di habitatnya. Plus disepakati berangkat jam 7 pagi dari tempat parkir. Kenapa dibilang alot, karena kita sampainya di tempat ini tengah malam, tiba2 dikerumuni oleh para guide, jasa penginapan dll, yang menawarkan jasanya. Yang membuat kita kabur ke kota lagi. Hahahaha. Sampai di kota mampir ke pasar swalayan, nanya kesalahsatu pengunjung, dan kebetulan mereka berasal dari bukit lawang, pass pula rumahnya depan mesjid yang ada areal parkir luas. Jadinya kita bareng ke bukit lawang lagi. Dan kenalan dengan guide buat menemani kita trekking. Biasanya trekking dimulai jam 9 pagi, tapi kita maunya jam 7 pagi, alhamdulillah kita ketemu monyet di jembatan penyeberangan, orang utan dan monyet hitam putih (orang sini panggil thomas). Jarak parkiran ke hutan tidak terlalu jauh, jalurnya juga normal2 aj, sepanjang jalan banyak cottage2 dengan berbagai macam model dan harga. O iya jangan lupa bawa minum.
