Shri Bayalu Ganapathi Temple

The golden coloured temple tower is highly attractive with figurines of gods and goddesses. As we entered the temple, we were amazed to see a good 20 ft high, monolithic statue of God Ganapathi blessing us. Said to be built in 1475 AD by Guthyappa Nayaka, from the Nayaka rulers clan of Chitradurga, this Ganesha has plaited / entwined hairs, earning the nickname “Jade Ganapathi“.

This temple is approximately 550 years old, built in 1475 during the time of Madakari Nayaka, Ganesha statue is very magnificent.

The town has a temple to the deity Ganesha and was established in 1475 CE by Guthyappa Nayaka. The temple contains Ganesha's monolithic statue, which is about 6 m (20 ft) tall. According to local legends, if one worships Ganesha's statue with true devotion, their wishes will be fulfilled. Leela Visranti Dhama, the burial site of late Sri Mallikarjuna Murugharajendra Swamiji at Holalkere is developing into a tourist spot due to the efforts of the present Seer Sri Shivamurthy Sharanaru of Chitradurga.

Holalkere Sri Bayalu Ganapathi Temple is an ancient temple which has an Idol of Lord Ganesh that is carved in one single stone and is around 20 feet tall. The temple is now very well developed and maintained. It's a very peaceful place surrounded by coconut plantations and not too far from Hosadurga(around 30kms).

Ancient Ganapathi temple of Holalkere.
It was built at around 15th century by the rulers of Chitradurga Nayakas. A 12 Foot monolithic Ganesha idol which was completely done by using Manforce.
The speciality of this Ganesha is it has "Jade" and hence called Jade Ganapathi.
It looks more beautiful during occasions like Sankashta Chathurthi, Kunkumalankaara and Benne Alankaara...

Situated in a serene and calm place.
All your desires will come true if you visit this place and pray with complete devotion.
Many bells could be seen here which are offered by the devotees as mark of gratitude for the lord after their wishes come true.
The word bayalu itself mean exterior.
Avoid during Ganesh chaturti and other religious days as the crowd would be high in numbers
