Stumbled up on this hidden gem (we didn't know about this) on the way from banavasi to Bangalore.11th century architecture , Mesmerizing,thought provoking and blissful.Lower half of the back portion of the temple looks incomplete,no info why..Must visit ,it will blow u away if u are into history and temple architecture .

Such a beautiful stone architecture, inner central sanctum flower design on ceiling is mesmerizing. But neglected by authorities and locals.

Tarakeswara located in Hangal, karnataka.It also houses a temple to Shiva's vahana  Nandi, and his son Ganesh. It also has three memorial stones which are sculpted with religious and military scenes and inscribed with text in the kannada language.

Great architecture of the temple. Temple has been disturbed by strangers by damaging the statues by anti social members.
