A serene experience. The bhagwati temple gives you the calmness and peace. The temple architecture is beautifully crafted wooden structure.
The lake is so beautiful that you can spend hours looking at it. The walk around lake gives you jungle feel. The only voice one can find is birds chirping around. Nature lovers and bio diversity admirers must visit

One of the most scenic temples of India with a beautiful lake for company.

You may spend atleast 2 hrs at this place enjoying the view around. If you have senior citizens or people who have difficulty in moving, you may take your vehicles right upto the temple at the top. The street is quite narrow but a big car like Ertiga may reach the top. There is a nice restaurant called Malvan Food Station right at the centre which serves great food.

Some local food items are sold in the temple premises. Washroom facility is available at the temple.

It is a must visit place if you are around Malvan. Have a safe trip.

Oh my goodness, let me just start by saying that the Praful Bhagavati Devi temple is an absolute marvel! Situated amidst the breathtaking beauty of Damapur dam and surrounded by a dense forest, this temple offers an experience like no other. As you enter the premises, you are immediately enthralled by the great view that unfolds before your eyes. The lush greenery of the forest envelopes you, embracing you with a sense of calm and serenity. The temple itself is a sight to behold, with intricate carvings and architectural brilliance that showcase the rich cultural heritage of India. Standing in front of this majestic structure, you can't help but feel a rush of excitement and awe. The entire ambiance is filled with positive energy and spirituality which can be felt in every corner. Visiting this temple is not just about seeking blessings; it is a journey into nature's lap and a rendezvous with divinity. It truly is an unforgettable experience!

i visited the temple on 29th dec'22 while staying at tarkali.
This is a must visit if you are planning for a malvan trip to near by beaches.

How to reach : I traveled from tarkali beach and it took 45 mins to reach. google map will take you, road is good and you will enjoy the ride. Two ways to reach temple, if you put Dhamapur lake in google map it will take to jungle road, take left inclined road, park your vehicle when you see a small temple. take the narrow road walk opposite to the parking place. its enjoyable, lake on one side and forest on another. Its safe no issues.
Else put bhagawati temple in google maps it will take you to road side park and reach temple climbing steps

Location: it by side of dhamapur lake, boating is close now
History: temple is 400 yrs old when spoken to temple mgmt. its is maintenance mode. I think major renovation is needed.
Made solely in wooden and the idol is mesmerizing.
explore the place its worth. Donate as temples in India need our help.

Pooja: you have to buy pooja samagri from the main road stalls.
Photo and vedio is not prohibited.

Things to Do: sit by the late and enjoy the clam and serenity of the place.

Very Serene and Divine Temple of goddess Bhagvati rested in beauty of World Heritage Irrigation Structure of Dhamapur lake. You can enjoy boating in lake here except in monsoon. Must visit place for nature lovers.
Dhamapur lake dam built in the year 1530 by villagers of Dhamapur and Kalse under the guidance of Nagesh Desai, Mandlik of Vijaynagar dynasty, the dam was built entirely by the local fund. This lake has rich biodiversity of planktons.

This is one of the stunning hidden gems of Malvan. This place is rich in bio diversity and bird lover's paradise. The temple architecture which is around 500 years old is simple yet mesmerizing.
You can spot so many hornbills around the temple, we counted atleast 40 of them.

The lake is also as stunning as the temples, with birds and insects species around it with mangroves and other rare species of trees.

Hope this place maintains its sanctity with no over tourism.

The temple is very old. It's located just beside Dhaampur Lake and is also the way to reach the lake. The view here is stunning as the lake is surrounded with greenery. The history of lake according to the elders in my family is this Devi used to provide newly weds with gold and utensils which they are supposed to return again the next day. This temple is mid-way of Kudal-Malvan. The roads on the way are scenic as well.

This temple has become famous because of a legend associate with it. The legend is the big lake in front of the temple. The lake is known as “Dhamapur lake” or “Lake of Dhamapur”. On the occasion of marriage, poor villagers of this village (Dhamapur) used to dip the basket full of flowers in the lake. When this basket was later taken out the flower were turned in to the ornaments. The condition was these ornaments were to be returned to lake once the marriage ceremony was over. This legend has made this deity very famous in the surrounding region. Many devotees of goddess Bhagawati still visit the temple for the “Darshan” Dhamapur is easily accessible from Malvan & Kudal the tehsil places in the district. The devotees as well as tourist should visit this place for the beautiful temple, the wonderful lake and scenic beauty around it.
