It's a very ancient temple with historical importance. It's said that one's Dwarkadhish pilgrimage is not finished until one visits this temple. This temple is set up in a lovely location and is worth visiting even if one is not on a pilgrimage...

Photography is prohibited inside the temple. The only downside is that toilets here are not maintained and there are none in the vicinity easily available.

The Rukmini Devi Temple is a temple dedicated to Hindu goddess Rukmini, situated in Dwarka, Gujarat, India.
Carved naratharas (human figures) and carved gajatharas (elephants) are depicted in panels at the base of the tower.
The temple is also known for its jal daan (water offering) custom where devotees are asked to donate water to temple.
The yatra to Dwarka is completed only after you take darshan of Dwarkeshwari Rukmini Maharani.

An interesting legend surrounds the different addresses for the temple of Lord Krishna and his Queen, Rukmini. It is said that sage Durvasa requested Krishna and Rukmini to pull a chariot to take him to their house for a meal. On the way, when Rukmini asked for water to quench her thirst, Lord Krishna prodded the ground with his tow, and the River Ganges appeared. Rukmini quenched her thirst but forgot to ask the sage if he wanted a drink of water too. Durvasa felt insulted and cursed her that she would live separately from her husband.
The best time to visit is between November and February.

Very beautiful temple. This is bit of a neglected temple given its historical and religious importance. The architecture and carvings are very good but are getting ruined by every passing day. Ample of space for parking in front of temple campus.

Always learn about our history. Know it even before you step there.
Places is far away from the town and it is isolated and very calm place.
If possible, visit the temple early in the morning. You will love the Vibes and calmness.
The architecture is good. If you are a person who have eyes for architecture. Just visit the temple.

My learning from this visit: everyone makes mistakes, but forgiveness is a blessing. If you can't forgive, at least don't curse. Because other people might suffer due to the mistake of a few.

Such a wonderful place...
People are donating water (not physical water but rupees to buy on behalf of them)....its very good for that place.... temple people should have to give an invoice or donation receipt for the donation.
Overall a peaceful place and a must visit.

Ancient temple of Rukmini Devi. Beautiful carvings surrounding the temple. Nice spacious and peaceful place to visit. Usually not so crowded, darshan would take not more than 30 minutes. Looks great in moon light

Temple of great religious and historical significance. Mata rukmini lived here for some time due to a curse to shri krishna that he would have to live separate from his wife. Later it was attacked by islamic invaders. Temple although is not in good condition now. It comes under ASI and it is clearly not managing it well. They should hand it over to government or temple authorities. But still a must visit pilgrimage site.
