Vembanad House

Beautiful old house on the lake with lovely, polite and professional hosts.
The room are clean, there’s AC and wifi.
They can serve very good home made meals and they’re very helpful with arranging your stay (they organised a boat trip on the lake for us, booked cars and gave us many suggestions).

This place is just lovely, pieceful and with a wonderful vue over the lake. The rooms and bathrooms are big and with own balcony. The staff is super serviceminded. Can absolutely recommend this place

If you love serenity, this should be your go-to place. Authentic homely vibe with luxury stay, what best can you hope for? And even to top that, there will be Mr. Dhanush, who will make you feel perfectly at home. Whatever be your problem, the way he tries to solve it, really commendable. There can be many places still like Vembanad house, but no one like him.
I am really mesmerized by their warm hospitality.

Note: one other important point, I missed, we took some other houseboat, i would suggest to try the houseboat they suggest. Because after evening, they park at a particular place for each set separately and you will get no personal feel. Here they are willing to park at night near vembanad house, so you will get that special personal feeling. We plan to try out that option in our next stay.

Food was also good, the quantity was huge for us :P. Do try the exotic options they suggest, highly recommend specially karmeen fry.

Absolutely amazing stay there. We had the house to ourselves. The hosts were very caring and welcoming. The land is stunning with a large garden and a river just by the lake. There are some hamacs by the water and a nice little hut structure to rest in. And most of all the food was absolutely amazing!

Wonderfully serene. Enjoyed our short stay here after a hectic two weeks in Bangalore. Fantastic hosts and delicious meals! We were lucky to have the whole house to ourselves on the second night but the house is so spacious you'll have your privacy for sure. Vembanad House was our base to get to/from Alleppey. The property is close to a beach for those wanting to chase the sunset (though get on a rickshaw, not walking distance). If you don't want to bother, there's also an immediate access to the lake at the property (20 steps from the door). Thanks for hosting us. Hope to come back again one day.

The views of the lake is why you would come to Vembanad House. To sit on the hammock and let time go by.

The cook at the house is excellent and the fish cutlets, Moree, and other Kerela dishes are a must have.

Kissed goodbye to the marvelous 2018 on the lake fronts of Vembanad.
Our homestay Vembanad house is a hover of tranquility. Located right on the forefront of the lake, the house was built 100 years ago by someone who lives life like a ray of sunshine. Authentic Kerala architecture, huge lakefront garden wherein I swung on the hammock to foster the book dragon within me. We spent our New Year’s Eve on the waterfront gazebo dipping our legs in the lake reveling with a mug of beer. To top it all you cannot miss the scrumptious food prepared by our host Sandhya. She specially prepared starters for us to savor on the waterfront.
We finally welcomed 2019 with an early morning jog in the garden.

After 3 days in Fort Kochi we decided to spend some time on the backwaters. This place came up in our searches. I am not going to go into long descriptions. Just suffice to say it was extraordinary . We had the place to ourselves. The room was nice a spacious. But the hospitality and the lunch and dinner was what blew me away. I ate and ate and ate, at every meal. Just could not resist the food. Then to go for a swim or just sit and watch the day pass by reading my book on the porch, boy oh boy. I really began questioning my need to come back to the nonsense of Gurgaon! Highly recommended for a true getaway. A kayak trip on the backwaters is a must!

This place is literally like a dream home. Its backwater side and have a very beautiful garden. They have good collection of old furnitures and the common place is so relaxing you can enjoy a lot. They have three types of room first one is delux room, family room and twin. Service is upto the mark. Really a beautiful place to stay in Alleppey.

A quaint heritage home tucked away from all the ruckus of Alappuzha! It was a gift that we had the entire place all to ourselves! The property is beautiful and is a nice break from the hustle of city life! Lawns and a small canal running through sets an amazing ambience for a romantic getaway! Sitting on the vembamad lake at sunset enjoying a drink was the best part of our day at the vembamad house ! The hosts are courteous and cook food on request and serve some of the best meals we had in Kerala! The host also helps you get a ride on the cute fishing canoes of Kerala! This resort does promise you the best experience of Alappuzha and Kerala

This property is spread around sprawling 10 acres. You get a the feeling of being in a different world once you land at this place. A place which takes us away from the dusty urban sophistication
