Authentic home food with a homely atmosphere. We were searching for a good hotel for almost 2 hour. Finally came across this and it was worth it. Kids were not willing to leave the place.

Rating as 5 star because of the delicious homely food that we had at this place. This was the best part of our visit to Madikeri. We just happened to stop at Kumari's Kitchen as it rained heavily back to home. Trust me the hault here was worth it. Nice location, washrooms and extremely well maintained dining area. It's not about the variety of dishes, but it's all about the satisfaction that one has. They say you tend to feel the food much tastier, when you find see a well mannered and well groomed staff. Very true in our case. Regarding the cost of the food, it is very much okay because we anyway pay so much at restaurant type of food, but here it was typical homely food. Difference!!!

We stopped here for lunch, ordered two veg thali, very hygienic sitting with a great village vibe, the food was extremely tasty especially the sweet mango pickle. Food was served hot not pre-cooked and the staff was very courteous. Would recommend everyone to stop here and try the lunch.

An excellent restaurant with authentic Kodagu style food. Had a great lunch while backing from thala Kaveri. A must place to visit if visiting Coorg.
Spent a good amount of time plucking fruits from the garden and if you are foddie you get to love every dish served which are authentic, fresh and tasty.
Owner spent a good of time with every guest and price is very reasonable. We were four and spent around 1200 for lunch

I can't put in words the most unforgettable meals we experienced in Kumari's Kitchen. I had come from Thal Kaveri and before checking in Madikeri spotted this food haunt on the right side of the road.

The wooden structure and description on the board attracted me. Readers know that the first book on Indian Cousine was commissioned by Tata's Taj around 1970. Santa Rama Rau wrote that book. I have read about that great book in various resources like news paper articles in Economic Times and Times of India. I distinctly remember dining descriptions in fiction of R K Narayan and I have profusely seen south Indian traditional food in South Indian Films and web series.

These had created an abstract image in my mind but never once I experienced that heavenly taste in various travels in Kerala, TN and Karnataka. Pune and many Maharashtrian towns have Udupi hotels but there too I didn't find that taste in last few decades of my food lust. Divinity had planned that to happen when I near sixty and visit Kumari's Kitchen.

Kumari Ma'am 's extremely hospitable daughter in law Ms Yashika ( who is an IT Engineer but her IT Engineer husband Nanjappa, both of them share their time helping Mrs Kumari Mani in running this wonderful organization ) served meals on banana leaf. She introduced to Mrs Kumari whose personality embodied South Indian Culture as a whole.

First came rice bhakri or Akki to eat with two types of different bhajis or subjis already served on the leaf along with fantastic raw black pepper pickle. Rice followed with ample Sambar on it and a bowl of Rassam. Pappad was served.

Then came curds bowl and shevayi bowl. Thus all my appetite of decades wait ended with immense satisfaction. I had already booked my stay otherwise I would have loved to stay at their place because she told me they arrange coffee Estate trips, interactive sessions with locals.

I missed that all but in future I will visit this heavenly place with divine hands of Mrs Kumari, Nanjappa, Somanna, Ms Yashika and Master Ganpati ( some prefix is there to this name which I could not catch ) have created another heaven of human civilization which we very much miss in out mundane lives, day to day.

Wooden structure, rain water channels, Bhagwad Geeta and the complete ambience give me constant call in my ears, go back there. My visit to Virajpet and Madikeri in my own Nexon was extremely fruitful with dense forests, simple loving people, scenic nature and Kumari's Kitchen.

Excellent home cooked food and beautiful ambiance giving the experience of a home away from home. Very friendly and helpful owners who interact personally with everyone. Don't miss the Pandi Curry and the Passion Fruit Juice. Fresh Spices, Coffee Powders, Homemade Chocolates, Passion Fruit Juice Concentrate, etc kept for sale and available at reasonable prices. They also have homestay facilities.

We visited Coorg in Oct'21 and stumbled upon Kumari's kitchen on the way and immediately decided we must have a meal here which turned out to be a great decision. We went there for dinner for a family of 8 and the owner took a lot of interest in serving us the best delicacies from her kitchen. She was extremely warm and personally ensured we had the best meal in coorg. Aunty took a lot of care and love in checking what would we might like. Right from 3 varieties of fish to chicken curry, mutton curry and multiple veg dishes we relished every bite we had. A must recommend to everyone who can visit Kumari's kitchen in Coorg. !

I took my friends to this place last week when we were in Coorg. Everyone just loved the food here. Veg thali(with nonveg options) was too good. Quality and service was the best in and around here. All of this at reasonable price.
I Definitely recommend this place when you are in Coorg.
