One of the well built Perumal temple's ever. Such a big temple dedicated to lord Vishnu, and thayaar represented as Shenbagavalli.

This temple is built around 10th century by Kulothunga chola period and later developed by successor.

The temple opens at sharp 4.30 pm evening,it was very free during that time to have a very peaceful dharshan.

An existing old architectural beauty that everyone should visit once in their lifetime.
The pillars are extraordinary.

A well maintained temple by the priests and cleaning people. The priests doesn't make us panic,we can have a good dharshan.
Has a good car parking at rajagopuram.

The famous elephant Shenbagavalli with the pop cut is beautiful to watch.

A highly recommended temple.
Car parking 30rs.

700 years old temple. Kovil has 4 amazing entrances (NEWS). Good and great experience. People fondly called this Mannai Periya Kovil. Big pillars are there. It's very slim.

One of the important vishnu temples in this district - TIRUVARUR, MANNARGUDI. The elephant - Sengamalam and her hair style is one of the unique attraction. Located in the heart of Mannargudi town, brings in the devotees from across the state.

Great ancient old temple. Temple is clean and quiet awesome. Not quite a rush over there, so u can peacefully pray and spend time inside the temple. U can go as close as possible inside Sri Rajagopalaswamy sannidhi and Thaayaar sannidhi.

Sengamalam, elephant with bob-cut hairstyle is so cute here. She just loves giving poses for snaps u take of her and with her. So calm and so cute.

This famous temple in Mannargudi houses the most beautiful Krishna who is known as Rajagopala. This is a huge temple spread over 33 acres. One can sight the gopuram from a distance of 5-10kms while driving in as it is 154 feet tall. As we reached the temple we saw to our left a well maintained garden with benches to rest. To our right we saw the temple elephant. Her name is Shenbagavalli and her fringe was attractive. At some distance we saw cows a grazing .We sat along the column of pillars and waited for the temple to open. The priest came with a huge bunch of keys and when he signalled we entered the temple. While Vasudevan flanked by Rukmini and Satyabhama is majestic it is Rajagopala with a dangling earing in one ear and a stud in the other who attracts. Wearing a single vastram tied tightly up to His knees like a cowherd holding a whip with three dents leaning on a cow with a calf staring up at Him.In the sanctum was a santana gopala lying on the Banyan .We saw a couple given this Krishna to hold and rock in their hands while the priest blessed them saying they would be blessed with kids.by His grace. Many are the stories of childless couples who have had children after praying here.As we moved out of the main sannidhi we saw 32 ifferent darsans that Krishna gave to two rishis at their request. Next we went to the temple of Thayar. She goes by the name Shenkamallavalli Thayar and Her sannidhi is in the 2nd precinct. Seated on a lotus She oozes mercy and answers prayers of marriage. We were lucky to see Her mangalaharathi and felt blessed. There was one occasion when we got to see Rajagopala in Nachiar Tirukolam in Margazhi. The river Haridra so called because it turned yellow by the bathing of gopis is huge and filled with clean water. Krishna is said to have revealed His leelas done on the banks of Yamuna here for the sake of two devotees. Even after coming back home one remembers Gopala

We visited this temple in Sept 2023. This is located in the small town of Mannargudi, which is about 40km south of the famous temple town of Kumbakonam. A good road links Mannargudi and Kumbakonam. The town comes under Thiruvaroor district. The temple is also known as the Dwarka of the South and the main diety has assumed the avtar of Gopala - cow herder. The temple boasts of 7 towers (gopura), one of which is 154 feet high. There are at least 7 praharas (corridors), with some of them with several beautiful pillars. The main diety of the 24 acre temple is Vishnu - Lord Krishna -Rajagopalaswamy and his consort is Sengamala Thayar; both have separate 'Sannithis'. The 11th century temple is really worth a visit.
