After visiting Shri Omkareshwar temple, we visited this shrine, just about a 10-minute walk, across the bridge over Narmada. It was a blissful experience to visit this beautiful temple, with beautiful stone sculptures.
When we visited at about 9.30 am in mid Feb, 2024 , there was no waiting time to enter the temple.

From bus stand it's hardly 10 mins by auto. They charge you 20rs per seat from bus stand to temple. Opposite the temple there are few flower shops you can buy flower garlands or baskets and keep your bags with them visit Mamleshwar temple and then leave for Omkareshwar temple, then while returning from Omkareshwar you can collect from them.
Well speaking about Mamleshwar temple there isn't much crowd. Try to visit early in morning and avoid weekends. You can peacefully take darshan.
It's less crowded as compared to Omkareshwar.
Once you leave Mamleshwar temple on right there is a road that takes you to bridge or to the riverside.
There are two ways to go to Omkareshwar temple.
1. By bridge walking
2. By boat (they charge you 50rs per person)
Accordingly choose your path
It's really crowded at Omkareshwar temple which might take like 4-5 hrs so plan accordingly.
!! Om Namah Shivay!!

This is one another Lord Shiva temple very close to Omkareshwar.
It is at a walkable distance from Omkareshwar temple. I visited this after visiting Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga.
It wasn't that crowded and was able to complete the Darshan within 30mins.
You can walk to the river bed from here and there are many boating options available. You all have a very good Darshan.

It is said that when one visits Omkareshwar he also needs to visit mamleshwar otherwise his darshan will be incomplete as it's considered to be the other half jyotirlinga of Omkareshwar

At a distance of 1 km from Omkareshwar Bus Station, Mamleshwar Temple is a sacred Hindu temple located in the holy town of Omkareshwar, Madhya Pradesh. Situated right opposite the Omkareshwar temple on the southern bank of the Narmada River, it is one of the popular temples in Omkareshwar.

There are two main temples of Shiva here, one to Omkareshwar (whose name means "Lord of Omkara or the Lord of the Om sound") located in the island and the other one Mamleshwar (Amaleshwar) (whose name means "Immortal Lord" or "lord of the Immortals or Devas") located on the southern bank of the Narmada River on the mainland.

Other half of Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga. Crowded, no special Darshan, difficult for wheelchair bound pilgrims. Very old smaller temples with deities are in the complex.
Approachable by small vehicles.

Shri Mamleshwar Jyotirlinga, also known as Amareshwar or Amareshvar, is another revered site in the vicinity of Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga. Devotees appreciate the spiritual energy and historical significance of this temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The ancient architecture and the sacred atmosphere contribute to a profound religious experience. While slightly less known than Omkareshwar, Mamleshwar Jyotirlinga offers a quieter and contemplative space for worship, attracting those seeking a more intimate connection with divinity.

They believe that the town of Omkareshwar is blessed with two jyotirlinga — the first being Omkareshwar, and the other being Mamleshwar or Amareshwar. It is the deity of Amareshwar, who is prayed upon inside the sanctum sanctorum of the Mamleshwar temple.

There are two jyotirlinga in omkareshwar and this is another one. There is a saying that to complete the darshan you need to take blessings from both the jyotirlinga. When we visited there was a normal rush and it took around 15 min approx to complete the darshan. Om namah shivay.

Mamleshwar jyotirlinga is another famous temple in omkareshwar.
It is situated on the banks of river Narmada.
This place is very less crowded compared to Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, once we reach the temple complex there is not much walking. There are no special tickets, only general darshan for everybody.

This Ancient Shiv temple is built on the bank of river Narmada. It is built with " Nagari Shaili " one of the oldest forms of temple and palace designs.
The atmosphere is divine when you enter the garbh gruh of Shri Mamleshwar Mahadev.
The story behind Mamleshwar temple is that; centuries before when the Narmada river overflows due to rains, Shri Omkareshwar temple becomes inaccessible and no puja performed for Shivling there. Hence Adi Sankara installed Mamleshwar and performed puja at Mamleshwar when Omkareshwar becomes inaccessible for at least 4 months.
Also legend says that one should visit Mamleshwar temple after Omkareshwar Mahadev only then your visit is considered complete.

Situated on river narmada

Mamleshwar is known as 4th jyotirling with omkareshwar jyotirling gulab jal & Ganga jal are used for abhisek along with flowers and belpatra

Mamlesha fell pregnant to the sage. The sage worshipped Mahakala Shiva to avoid the defect in marriage to a mleccha girl. This is how Shiva was established here. From the name of the Kinnar girl - Mamlesha - Shiva was called Mamleshwar and this village became famous as Mamel.

Often referred as the 4th jyotirling. Combination of Omkareswar and Mamleshwar, makes it the complete one jyotirling. As compared to Omkareshwar, it is very less crowded and you can get the darshan in not more than 60 mins. But definitely if you are going Omkareshwar, then you must go there. Har Har Mahadev. Om Namah Shivaay.

This is a Temple of Lord Shiva residing here in the form of Mamleshwar Jyotirlinga.

This temple is accompanied with Omkareshwar Jyotirling and it has been said that for one to have a complete darshan of the Omkareshwar one has to have a Darshan here after visiting Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga.

It is a very simple temple. situated on the other bank of the Holy Narmada River.

Serene & Calm place. The temple structure is beautiful. I had my darshan within 15 minutes perhaps because most people were attending the Narmada arti.
