पुरातत्व एवं संग्रहालय विभाग की ओर से पर्यटकों को जिले की बेशकीमती आकर्षक कलाकृतियों को लेकर अरसे से सपने दिखाए जा रहे हैं। अब करीब एक दशक से तो म्यूजियम (राजकीय संग्राहलय) के नाम पर ही जिले के लोगों को बहलाया जा रहा है। वर्ष 2008 में नींद से जागी सरकार ने जिला मुख्यालय पर जिले के काकोनी, रामगढ़ व शेरगढ़ समेत अन्य स्थानों पर यहां-वहां खुले में पड़ी पुरामहत्व की कलाकृतियों का सहेजने के लिए म्यूजियम बनाकर उसे आमजन के लिए उपलब्ध कराने का सपना दिखाया, लेकिन करीब तीन वर्ष पहले भवन तैयार होने के बावजूद म्यूजियम आमजन के लिए नहीं खोला जा रहा है।
